Its a mixture of a few different games. Its main game is a contest for pieces of a world that is fragmented, You invade these pieces and try to beat everyone else there until you're the sole owner of it then it gets assimilated into the world your building. Theres a lot of stuff like random events and managing the provinces in each shard and combat is heavily strategic positioning and composition done in a turn-based hex battleground similar to games like HoMM, Its pretty fun
