Description

Initially, this mod was made by Hambango[forums.totalwar.com]. I uploaded it here with his permission to publish and maintain it.
Paperpancake has redesigned and expanded the mod.

One of the highest rated mods for Total War: Warhammer returns! With this mod you can assign one or more units to the AI to control. For example, you can assign your cavalry to the AI and watch them cycle charge the enemy again and again, while you command your infantry lines.

How it works

Just select the units you want to be controlled by the AI and hit Shift + F9 at the same time. This triggers a pop-up window showing the advisor. Now the AI controls the units you chose. Their cards are flashing, so you can always tell that they are under the AI. The key bindings are as follows:

- Shift+F9 will enable the AI for all selected units
- Shift+F10 will enable the AI for all unselected units

Advanced Controls

- Turn Unit Responses On/Off
Useful when your units get stuck in an audio loop. To use this function hit Shift + F11. Default is ON.

- Turn AI Control of Summoned Units On/Off
If you want to assign all newly summoned units to the AI, enable this function by hitting Shift + F12 (before you cast the summon spell). Default is OFF.

- Turn AI Control of Rallying Units On/Off
You can assign all rallying units to the AI. This means that you normally control your units until they rout. Once they rally, they will be controlled by the AI. To enable this function assign a key to "Save Camera Bookmark 5". Default is OFF.

Things to notice

- Each time you press Shift + F9, the AI resets to the currently selected units. You cannot add units to a "preexisting pool" unless you use MCT or the configuration text file. However, you can change your initial selection anytime during the battle.

- If you want to turn off the AI and manually control your units, make sure no unit is selected and hit Shift + F9. You can do this anytime you wish.

- The hotkeys (Shift+F9/F10/F11/F12) replace the bookmark locations 1-4 in keybindings section. You can change them freely though. For more explanation on the controls, please refer to these threads:
FAQ1
FAQ2

- AI General works for all units, lords and heroes and even for reinforcements that arrive after the battle begins. It works both in Campaign and Custom battles. It works for most Quest Battles as well. The AI doesn't perform well in siege battles, so we recommend you to fight these manually. This mod does not work in intro battles.

Really cool mod but I've noticed that the AI tends to suicide caster heroes into melee quite a bit which has been frustrating, losing river troll hags against Belegar especially is frustrating, not sure if that's a bug or just a quirk of the AI just posting as a thing for other people to see!

During sieges the ai always sends flying troops straight over the wall so I recommend not having any of this for sieges

I know you didn't make this and have probarly no idea how to do this. But I am curious if you have idea of how this is done with AI being on your side without replace you just to assign units to them. I want to see if I can get glimpse of idea of how this is done so I can attempt to recreate the concept as mod for another rts game to act as macro automation.
