More Vanilla Biomes

Description

More Vanilla Biomes adds more variety to your environment without overhauling the game. Includes TEN new vanilla-friendly biomes.

Glacial Shield: Where the glacier meets the tundra, this area is icy, rocky, and cold almost year-round. Thick stands of forest are concentrated in patches of soil and around lakes, attracting wildlife.

Badlands: Rocky, dry and desolate, these temperate regions feature little life.

Cloud Forest: Found at the tops of tropical mountains and named for the constant fog. Animals frequently wander up the slopes from the forests below.

Marsh: Marshy terrain with dense plants but few trees. Temperate to cold.

Grasslands: Warm, with poor soil, lots of grass, and few trees. Herds of grazing animals make their home here. If Realistic Planets is enabled, this will be renamed Stormy Savannah.

Coastal Dunes: Low-lying sandy area with lots of water.

Sandbar: Smooth, flat, sandy islands with little if any vegetation or arable land.

Alpine Meadow: A beautiful area with fertile soil, lots of flowers, and few predators. The summers are mild and bountiful, and the winters are cold and harsh.

Oasis: Desert with groundwater close to the surface, making small lakes that support pockets of thick vegetation. If Realistic Planets is enabled, this will be renamed Dense Oasis.

Iceberg: Frigid chunks of ice floating on the ocean. Who would want to live here?

This mod is meant to be as widely compatible as possible. Please report any issues.

Other biome mods: Compatible. Includes Alpha Biomes, Advanced Biomes, Archipelagos, Nature's Pretty Sweet, Biomes! Island, and more!

Mods that change world generation should be compatible, but you might see too much or too little of some biomes.

Modded plants and animals can spawn in the new biomes based on which vanilla biome(s) they are found in. Some modded plants and animals may need extra support, please report anything that you find.

For Modders: If you patch your plants and animals into vanilla biomes, they will also need to be patched into these biomes. If your plants and animals are added to vanilla biomes with a <wildBiomes> tag in the Def, they will be added automatically.

Recommended
Prepare Landing to help find the biome of your choice
Map Reroll if playing on maps without much solid ground.
Your choice of gravel visibility mod, especially if playing in Grasslands or Dunes. Some options are Gravel, Where's the Gravel?, and Soil Contrast

Incompatibility
Configurable Maps: Incompatible with sandbars, causes grasslands to have way too much sand, even if you have all vanilla settings. Other biomes work as intended.

Terra Project: Makes extensive changes to world generation that I can't work around.

Please report any other incompatibilities you find.

Also i tried to place soil with Developer Mode on and same issue

Problem, while playing Desert Oasis, i found out i cant Dry out shallow water, the pump's progress is being saved but now and then whole area that got dry gets flooded for like 2s and then becomes dry again. I didnt dry whole lake YET, but also got another mod Soil Relocation Continued and even with this mod, when i place soil on water game see it as soil + water, then after few seconds soil gets covered with water like it would disappear. I got ReGrowth, this, Geological Landforms, Water Freezes, Soil relocation as mod's that impact map in major way. Idk if its only on Desert Oasis cause didnt played other places yet, but its worth looking into it (yeah i was testing it in God Mode, so its not like i tried to fill it once, or didnt try to play around)

Yes, they will work together

is it working fine with Geological Landforms? I added it in, and tbh never looked if there are extra Vanilla bioms cause i thought these two work perfectly. Now that i went back to description i see theres no mentioning of it

You can disable any biomes you don't want

Out of curiosity, does the mod offer the option to enable/disable individual biomes, or is it an all-or-nothing package?

I haven't been able to make good river Delta maps. Tried for a while with Map Designer, never got good results. Otherwise I would!

Do you think you could add like a marshy delta biome when a river is next to the ocean? Love this mod though!!
