PARAKI

Description
Formerly a design for stealth class midget submarines, the Paraki has been retooled for work on Europa. While sacrifices are made with manufacturing and weapons, this is made up for in stealth, speed, and adaptability. A battery centric design is supported by a terminal allowing custom power configurations for engines, ballast, and oxygen providing exceptional versatility. A small low-efficiency reactor is provided for emergency power.

100% vanilla; no mods required

Built for Solo or Small Crews

A small submarine that provides a challenging experience for low crew numbers or even solo. Versatile but balanced for the experience, it can scale with you through a campaign whether by yourself, with AI crew, or other players.

Adjustable Power Controls

To complement it's battery centric focus, the terminal in the bridge offers commands to adjust power output to the engines, ballast, and oxygen generator. This allows you to adjust your approach depending on your mission or challenges you may face, maximizing endurance.

Nearly everything can be configured while under way, including exterior and navigation lights, suit tank storage, even the oxygen generator itself. All included light systems will stop working when the vessel is out of power, even when the lights aren't directly powered themselves.

Upgradable for Campaigns

The PARAKI comes fitted with a single coilgun as standard in the top mount, with a second configured hardpoint on the bottom. All vessels are fitted with a seperate periscope which can switch between three external cameras based on trigger input.

General Alarms

A variety of general alarms trigger notifications to the crew, through both lighting changes in the sub and alarm indicators in the bridge, and sirens throughout the ship. Some of the alarm settings can be adjusted on the bridge terminal to suit needs.

Dual Docking Mounts

Top and bottom docking mounts both feature semi-automatic airlocks. Each mount can be configured to recharge the vessel via it's connection. The exterior doors are configured to not be opened while the interior door is open, unless the vessel is docked.

@Callume Cat it is designed to be run without reactor, so it is extremely quiet. There is an onboard reactor but it is very small and inefficient, this means it will burn through fuel without much output. That reactor is really only intended for use when the main batteries run out.

The terminal at the front allows setting power for various systems, this allows you to configure how much power will be spent on the engine versus oxygen. For example with a single crew member you can often get away with oxygen at 20%. Running with engine lower will be slower, but quieter.

How quiet is this ship off the bat? I've heard of people setting up a silent running mode on their subs to stealthfully past monster and I was thinking of hopping up a system like that.

Some updates and fixes have been applied. Note these changes will not show with subs in existing games, you would have to sell the sub and repurchase it. The sub includes fixes to the reactor switch and a depth tube at the rear.

Almost completed the whole campaign on this sub and had a blast throughout the entire play with my friends (the crew: medic, captain, mechanic). Was really fun with neurotrauma and barocraftables so we could add things like fabricators.

Spoiler for finale of campaign

Coudn't finish the campaign because of guardians always draining our power :barotrauma:

@Dune0z If it isn't too much trouble, could you actually either upload that edited version of the Paraki with the engine fix done to it or do a step-by-step guide on how to fix it in a way that someone dumb like me could understand it, thanks.

Been recently having this problem and it's led to a lot of dead runs simply beyond my control. Very frustrating.
