How to backup/restore your SAVE FILES *DO IT NOW!*

Better safe than sorry
Alot of people has been stating that their game's save files of more than 50h+ progress have been completely disappeared.
Apparently, haters of this game has been breaking into codes and trying to cancel it forcefully, intending to make us bleed until we quit.
Steam cloud for Hogwarts Legacy is NOT functioning well. And that's why:
This is a guide about how you can protect your HL save files (backup) and avoid this thing to happen to you at anytime in future.
P.S. There's actually no prediction of a patch that will fix it. Or a Steam Cloud stability prevision. So do it before is too late.

1. Finding the save files
First things first. Open your C/disc, then users, [your name] and find the Folder named AppData
Check down below how to make it appear if it's not appearing to you:


2.1 Protecting your save files
Once you use *revelio* on the transparent folder, click on it. Then hit Local/Hogwarts Legacy/ saved, then finally, SaveGames.

So what you gonna do is copying this whole folder and paste it anywhere else you want and keep updating it each time you progress the game. *Overwrite the files if necessary.*

2.2 Restoring your save files & how to use Steam Cloud (This can also be very useful)
Most of the games from steam can have their save files automatically downloaded into steam Cloud.
Perhaps this game hasn't made the proper codes to make this resource work. But follow the steps bellow and be sure to activate it. This step can be really useful.


3. Restoring the Save Files with our step 2.1 method
Whenever you lose your progress as the save files mysteriously disappears, paste all the save files you saved when you copied that paste by putting them again at the same directory as before. And the most important thing u gotta do is to remember to say this out loud when you do it...

@Silent Nephilim, being honest, letting this fact out there on the net is not good for the marketing of the game. Why should you think they (game devs) would be giving the strenght to what's being done by the activists on this matter? Is not good to publicize it. period.

Haven't found any trace of that on the net.
There are reports of corrupted save files but nothing about Steam cloud being hacked by activists.
Sounds unlikely to me...

@ShiZniTe The game itself is trans and bipoc inclusive. On the contrary, it completely validates their world view. They just don't like that someone is able to profit from the game who doesn't hold the same world view as them.
