Story Achievements
Chapter 1 to the final chapter is pretty straightforward, just play through everything until you get to the postgame, which is Chapter Ø.

Progressing through Chapter Ø is doing a bunch of key quests that has the red icon with crossed swords. The quests are on Maniac difficulty so you should be considerably levelled up at this point to tackle them.

Once you finish off all of the key quests, you will unlock a rank up quest called "The Final Report" where you have to fight a level 120 Bahamut Versa that has 2 damage checks in the fight, so save your SBA for them.

Get some practice in with Sir Barrold

From the town, enter Grandcypher from the docks and find the training dummy at the front of the ship.

In Perfect Sync
Enter link time in battle (excluding Training)

You will need to get 100% link level and once everyone hits their link attack you will enter link time.

It's Called Skill
Use skills 50 times in battles

Self-explanatory.

About to Full Burst
Trigger a full burst (excluding certain battles)

To trigger a full burst, everyone in the party must have enough SBA (Skybound Arts) meter to do in sequence from each other. After each burst, other party members will gain 10% SBA meter. So one could have 100%, second party member 90%, third party member 80% and last party member 70% to do a full burst when done in sequence.

Chain Burst Champion
Activate Chain bursts 100 times in battles (excluding certain battles)

You have to do at least 2 SBA in sequence to trigger a chain burst so you don't have to have everyone at 100% SBA. Ideally having 4 SBAs from the entire party will deal the most damage.

Buff Buffet
Use buffing skills to grant status effects to allies 20 times in battles

Self-explanatory. Use skills that buff your team such as main character's Rage which increases ATK.

Debuff Deluge
Use debuffing skills to inflict status ailments on foes 20 times in battle

Self-explantory. Use skills to debuff enemies such as main character's Armor Break that decreases DEF or Miserable Mist that decreases both ATK and DEF

No Holding Back
Unleash Skybound Arts 10 times in battles (excluding certain battles)

Self-explanatory. Get your SBA meter to 100% and you can use it on an enemy. It will put you in 80% once you activate it so make sure you don't miss it and have to gain back SBA meter.

I Will Survive
Use 50 potions

Self-explanatory, use the potions on the left side of your screen.

Field Medic
Revive allies 5 times

Self-explanatory. Revive your teammates that are in critical condition. You have run up to downed teammates to revive them faster. There are some revive skills such as Cagliostro's Rhizomata or sigils such as autorevive. If you are downed yourself you can mash buttons to speed up your own recovery.

Give Me Something to Break
Put Foes into Break 5 times in battles (excluding certain battles)

On the lower right side of the bar for bosses is their mode bar. Once it's filled up they will go into Overdrive and you have to deal damage to make the mode bar go down. Once it's completely down they will go into Break.

Sharpshooter
Destroy all guide projectiles of an enemy barrage using a single Charged Shot from an ether cannon in Chapter 4 of the main story

During Chapter 4 you will operate an ether cannon. There will be 4 big red cannons on the enemy ship that will shoot up big red orb projectiles. These will split into smaller projectiles. Once they're split, they won't count towards the achievement. If you missed it you can restart from checkpoint and try again.

Cannon Crusher
Destroy all enemy cannons in Chapter 4 of the main story

In Chapter 4 you will board 3 enemy ships. On each enemy ship there will be 4 cannons. There are 2 cannons on left side and right side of the ship. Destroy these before you destroy the big battery at the back of the ship.

Child of Darkness and Flames
Defeat Angra Mainyu without taking any damage while controlling Proto Bahamut in Chapter 8 of the main story.

Retrying for this achievement is pretty annoying because you have to go through the scripted loss fights.

You have 4 different attacks, Light Blast, Attack, Tackle and Reginleiv. Light Blast is pretty useless here so you will pretty much just use the 3 other moves.

Actually you can fully charge up Light Blast quickly after doing 3 normal attacks, similarly to Cagliostro's Collapse or Io's quick charge.

Reginleiv is your strongest move and deals the most damage, it will keep the boss stunlocked but you can't use it forever and have to let it recharge. You can avoid the cooldown by avoiding completely using up the bar.

Tackle is to move quickly towards the boss if you're far away from dodging attacks.

Attack is a combo attack. You keep pressing it until you do the finisher, but it takes a while to do the entire combo so be ready to dodge.

Angra Mainyu has 3 different moves, dark purple laser attack, hand attack which shows their strings and a barrier. Both the laser attack and hand attacks can be dodged by going left or right if you're close to Angra Mainyu. The barrier can be destroyed by using Reginleiv so make sure you don't put it into cooldown.

Primeval Dragon
Defeat Bahamut Versa Omega without taking any damage while controlling Proto Bahamut in Chapter Ø of the main story.

Fortunately, this fight is quick to retry in case you fail.
Bahamut has four different phases, but two of them are flying phases which are easy. The attacks you should be looking out for is his 3 combo attack with left, right and then tail attack. And another one is where he charges up his Light of the Deliverance which you need the combo finisher or do a tackle during your attack combo.

Don't Think It Goes Higher Than That
Deal more than 999,999 damage with a chain burst in battle

You will get this achievement eventually when you get stronger. Make sure you have all 4 SBAs ready for the strongest chain burst.

Wings of Destruction
Complete the quest "The Final Report"

After you finish all of the Key Maniac quests, you will unlock The Final Report, which is a proud difficulty quest. This fight is for the most part the same except Bahamut hits much harder and has two damage checks which you should save your SBA for. Both of the damage checks will be after you break his Overdrive phase.

Primal Beast Punisher
Defeat primal beasts 100 times

Self-explanatory. You will get this achievement from grinding for materials. The primal beasts are Furycane, Managamr, Excavallion, Vulkan Bolla and Angra Mainyu.

Acquire a total of 100,000 rupies

You will get this achievement eventually. You can sell glitterstones from quests to get more rupies.

Push It to the Limit
Raise a character to level 100

Self-explanatory. You will get this pretty naturally or you can speed it up by using EXP books and level up a character to level 100.

Squad's All Here
Unlock all characters

You will have 6 characters initially and need 14 crewmate cards in total to unlock them. You will get crewmate cards from main story and quests afterwards so you only have to buy one crewmate card from Siero.

Fate Can't Wait
Complete all characters' fate episodes, including their epilogues

Self-explanatory. If you waited until the characters were level 60 when you unlocked them, you can just breeze through all of the fate episodes in 1-2 hours or so.

Nothing Is Impossible!
Complete all side quests

You will need to complete all 110 side quests which also consists of getting all 45 wee pincers.
Make sure you check inside the church at Folca, as it doesn't show up in the navigation bar on top unless you're inside.

Achievement not unlocking bug
Unfortunately there's a bug where your achievement doesn't unlock despite meeting the requirements. I personally had this happen to me with the "Fate Can't Wait" and "Reminiscence" achievement. From reading online, it seems the achievements might not unlock due to losing connection to Steam. I tried to re-do a Fate episode but that didn't trigger the achievement and there was no way for me to re-do the achievement on the current save.

Fortunately or unfortunately, there's a workaround, and that's to re-do the achievement before you meet the requirement in a previous save. And the previous save part is the unfortunate part because most people most likely do not make backups of their saves. I made a backup of my save before I got "Nothing Is Impossible!", "Unlocked and Unloaded", "Reminiscence" and "Fate Can't Wait" achievements. I left Yodarha's weapons unforged and left one last Fate Episode for him on that backup save. After trying for a while to get the bugged out achievements. I just went back to my backup save and did the achievements there and only then did the achievements count on Steam.

So if you have a problem unlocking achievements despite meeting the requirements, it looks like you just have to re-do the achievements on a different save or have made a backup save for it like I did. This looks like something Cygames should be fixing though.

It should be fixed now as of March 14th update version 1.1.1.

sorry, I won't bother you anymore

The guide currently has zero stars due to a lack of enough people voting, this is objective, the rest of "not helpful" is speculation. It depends on how many people are rating it and if it gets pushed to the front page where everyone can see it and stay there. Wee pincers and chests were not the sole purpose of the guide, it was something I drafted at first for the guide description. You can move on and try to find the info elsewhere. You're not being as insulting now, what was insulting was your previous comment on "ratings speak for themselves".

You keep mentioning ratings, therefore you keep being passive aggressive and offending me. Come correct first time to avoid the situation, otherwise do it to remedy the situation.
I already gave my reasoning for text directions vs screenshots and all the work and pay off it would take between them.

We spent enough time on this and I will not be talking in DMs, please leave.

Not really, I clearly stated my issue from the start, even if it was in a frivolous manner.
Your guide currently has zero stars and it may very well be in part be because of the issue I stated, since people aren't finding it helpful. This is not insulting, but objective.

I got here by searching for "wee pincers" and clicking on a guide that popped up, and finding no info on them. I imagine I may not be alone in this, hence the ratings. I didn't want to offend you, what I wanted was to remedy the situation I described, by either having the mentions of crabs and chests removed from the description to trigger false positive search results (the easy way), or adding actual notes on finding them (the hard, hard way).

We can take it to DMs if you wanna?

You're being passive aggressive and a jerk. You're not trying to contribute to anything and have been like that since your first comment. You said you don't have anything else to say yet felt compelled enough to talk about guide ratings which is just insulting instead of helpful.
The attitude ratings of your comments will speak for themselves.
Respectfully, leave.

I'm not sure I follow?
Zero Backup  [author] 10 May @ 12:07pm
Really showed your true colors there.
Zhnigo 10 May @ 11:51am
fair enough, the guide ratings speak for themselves
Zero Backup  [author] 10 May @ 10:25am
I'm not gonna remove it.
Have a nice day.
Zhnigo 10 May @ 9:05am
it would be fair to remove mentions of chests and crabs from the guide description, as it's misleading. other than that, i don't have anything else to say
Zero Backup  [author] 9 May @ 8:30pm
@Zhnigo
Chests and wee pincers were not the sole focus of the guide. Like I said, when I have time or motivation to update it maybe it will come. I'm not gonna add text of "go here and there" without screenshots or a map. Getting said screenshots or maps takes a lot of time to get and it wouldn't be just a few hours.
It's not like I'm asking to be paid doing this, this is done on my free time that I spend doing other things.
Is there anything else you want to add to the discussion other than wee pincers and chests?
