Description
Sweet Transit is an amazing game, but maybe you find it a bit too relaxed or easy after learning the mechanics. If so, Challenge Mode is for you! Careful and deliberate planning is now essential; no longer can you just spam Residences for stacks of Coin nor can you build rails all willy-nilly...

NB: Mod is an UNFINISHED alpha, please only use the mod if you're interested in providing feedback or testing out! I am doing the playthrough of the mod myself and developing as I go. See the Discussions for details such as proposed changes or known issues, as well as Pro Tips (and share your own must-have tips if you know any!)

CURRENT PROGRESS: I've successfully reached a population of 1700 on Day 15, with a decent Coin income (fluctuates between 100 and 1000). Any gameplay beyond this point may be impossible; if you beat me to it then you can always just disable the mod temporarily until next update.

RECOMMENDED: With this mod installed, it is recommended to play with MinTax/MaxUpkeep! in Advanced, set Taxes to minimum (50%) and Upkeep to Maximum (200%). The below upkeep and tax values will show two values, e.g. 1 (2) - the second (2) is the actual value if playing under the recommended rules.

PLEASE DO NOT REPORT FEEDBACK IF YOU ARE NOT USING THE ABOVE RECOMMENDED GAME RULES! With this mod the game is still too easy unless you have MinTax/MaxUpkeep!


[Rail and Signal additional upkeep/costs]
- All Rails and Signals now *cost* 25 (50) Coin to destroy;
- Rails upkeep is 1 (2) Coin;
- Signal upkeep is 2 (4) Coin;
- Chain Signal upkeep is 3 (6) Coin;
- Requirements and Chain Requirements Signal upkeep is 10 (20) Coin;

[Rail Bridge additional upkeep/costs]
- All Rail Bridges now *cost* 500 Coin to destroy (per tile) and will not refund any Wood/Stone/Steel;
- Wood Bridge upkeep is 1 (2) Coin and 1 (2) Wood;
- Stone Bridge upkeep is 2 (4) Coin and 1 (2) Cut Stone;
- Steel Bridge upkeep is 3 (6) Coin and 1 (2) Steel;

[Residence additional taxes/income]
- Labourers provide 4 (2) Tax income from Potato supply (same as Fish)
- Labourers provide 8 (4) Tax income from Clothing supply

Sounds like you're resurrecting my old idea and expanding upon it. I've made a mod for rail/signal maintenance quite some time ago but abandoned it...
