Ladder

Description
Ladder
This mod will allow you to build ladders. Ladders will make it so your beavers can go straight up and down without having to build a large stairwell.

Thanking
A massive shoutout to TheBloodEyes for helping the navigation fix be as optimized as can be!

How to use
You will find the ladder under the paths tab. In addition to that, ladder has an exception to the building 2 up rule, as for ladders this rule is removed and ladders can be build up infinity.

Cannot get this to work in the experimental 7 version on MacOS. Crashes as soon as I create a new or load a saved game.

Should the ladder be able to be built on the Impermeable floor like stairs?

For those who get crashes. Unsubscribe to mod and subcribe back. It works for some mods like that.

How do i get the ladder mod to work? I enabled the Harmony mod and the ladder mods but the game crashes everytime i try to play?

Hmmm, I didnt see them doing that in my testing. Seems my new solution doesn't work as well as I thought it would. It works, but I will try to improve it.

Not sure if this is intentional but my beavers are walking through the ladder. Previously the ladder side of the block would prevent movement.

A more advanced solution would be to remove the extra path under a ladder when it finishes building if that path doesn't connect to anything except ladders. That would also eliminate extraneous paths at the bottom of ladder stacks that don't go anywhere.

I frequently drop ladders into waterways that I'm bridging with platforms that don't actually connect to any path at the bottom. They're just there for construction/debris access, so previously there would never be a path object down there at all.

To me, it seems the simplest answer would be not to place the extra paths on top of other ladder blocks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the position above a ladder already a valid path node with or without an explicit path object?

I think he means when you stack them into a long ladder the guardrails clip. I just don't know which one he means, the poles or the squares? But I think the only solution would be making 2 animations? One for placing the ladder as a single ladder up like now and one for stacking multiple which will look a little slicker, maybe without 2 poles that go into the direction of the path or without the squares. Whatever looks better. :CatMorta:

Anyway, thanks for the mod! It's a great addition.

No, this is the new solution to fix the issue of beavers not being able to pathfind until the ladder is build. I understand hwat you mean regarding the stacking ontop. Would not doing that when stacking be a good solution? Or not place it when it isnt on the ground?
