Description
MUNAR GLADLY PRESENTS TO YOU...

Heart of Steel

Background

6th of June, 2036...
After Bravo Team cleared up the make-up HQ off Aristi's area, a NATO HQ was stablished on the outskirts of Abdera to fully prepare for an operation to fend-off the remaining AAF assets out of the island.

You play as Hammer Team leader, May God be With You...

SITUATION

You will be transported to our HQ near Abdera via-helo, then you’ll meet up with Col. Nathan (Zeus) and he’ll brief you shortly. When finished you’ll link up with your team which will be waiting near the CRV-6e Bobcat. From there you’ll pass Virginia Checkpoint and offer support on Abdera. An enemy QRF is expected to deploy if we capture Abdera, so be on your watch.

On a side note, Military Police have been sent to the HQ to provide in-site support and relief to fleeing civilians.

MISSION

You will insert from the south of Abdera, Lima and Icon teams will be assaulting Abdera from both flanks. Once you get to Abdera you will be tasked with supporting the assault of the town, you’ll need to neutralize all AAF assets in the area.

Once you do that, our troops will continue advancing to the Makeshift Airfield, which we believe is the actual HQ of Operations of the AAF in this area.

You won’t be supporting them since you’ll be taking care of other tasks.

ADDITIONAL MISSION NOTES

1. AAF troops are highly entrenched in Abdera, you may need to step out of your CRV-6e Bobcat.

AUTHOR NOTES

Hi there fellow Arma 3 Community!

Second mission following up my last recent one, this one will provide you with a combined-arms scenario that will last you around 20mins more or less.

I'd like to thankfully ask for any feedback that could help me improve on my mission-making career to make the best possible scenarios I'm able to.

Good luck!

Fun and quick scenario

onestar thats true, i didn't think about it, its actually a great idea

Komodo, thanks a lot for your feedback, its highly appreciated. I was thinking of not releasing the mission due to the part you need to step out of the IFV, but i understood that without AI behaviour mods it would be impossible to do that, your options tho, seem easy to implement, so i'll take that into consideration next time i do a mission like this one.

There was actually one truck located on the most lower part of the town, it was an AAF one, don't know if you noticed about it.

BiohazardPT thanks for playing the mission, hope it didn't take you too much time searching for the enemies. Will try to keep 'em coming!

Great mission with a mix of vehicles, CQB and UAV. Can be a chore to find all enemies though, it's my only complain. Great job nonetheless. Keep them coming

fun mission.....9/10

Feedback:
-To avoid searching the entire town and probably missing 1 dude hiding, better have them garrisoned in a few buildings and mark them either visually or on task position

-One of the QRF unit (just 1 soldier) didn't move from initial position and i had to go all the way north to finish the mission and trigger the end

-If you can add a rearm and repair truck for the Bobcat would be nice. Was very nice and useful to actually use that 50 cal

-Add Western Sahara as a cdlc requirement since Aegis and Atlas use it as a dependency. Few players maybe wondering why the scenario isn't booting up

ty man and hope u make some more

Oh yeah I understand it's almost impossible, I meant it only in a story sense, where it happens in the background. Like, we know it happens but we don't need to see it exactly. I hope you get my meaning haha.

@mrkillerovsky I recommend you to get the mod "Simple Singleplayer Cheat Menu" from the workshop for cases like that. It gives you access to Zeus mode and free cam/spectator mode on any mission, so you can easily find hidden enemies when you need to.

Great mission btw

onestar i agree with you on disembarking the vehicle, i really wanted the AI to sweep each house but i think its not possible without AI Behaviour mods, maybe there is a way but i dont know it, i'll look into it for future missions. Thanks for the kind words, it really helps and thanks for playing the mission! :D

mrkillerovksy thanks for noticing all the hidden details i left here and there, and those words warmly touch my heart, it really means it to me!

I agree with onestar. I couldn't finish it, because I couldn't really find the last enemies in the town.

Otherwise, the mission looks fantastic and has a lot of detail. I especially love the MP guys at the beginning, the briefing also looks great.

I hope you keep doing missions though. As of right now, in my opinion, you're up there with one of the best custom scenario makers out there.

There is lots of good stuff here, and tons of hard work. But I think the scenario flow was a -little- ruined with you having to abandon the IFV. It would've been nice enough to storm the town, assist in the assault but leave the CQB to other units. Or, maybe switch perspectives.

Otherwise, I hope to see more missions!
