Description
Aardwark is a remake of the same-titled Fortress Forever map and also a HYBRID CTF-CP map. Originally it wasn't a HYBRID map and also it was taking place in a "Beautiful park with a small lake in it's center", but I decided to change it to the homeland of the aardvarks — the african savanna.

RED and BLU both want to research the anomalies of this fine plot of land and have resorted to violence to steal intelligence about portals known to the opponent. To win, you need to capture the flag 3 times. Also you can (but you don't have to!) cap enemy's point to take away their powerup bonus and to turn off their security laser, otherwise, you will have to go past the enemy respawnroom or through the basement.

Wait, what? This basement looks familiar to me! Well... it's definitely not Mann Co. manipulating time and space, Mann Co. just... Mann Co. just using the same construction patterns, yeah! So no worries! Teufort is definitely remained untouched and not destroyed! At least in our universe and our time...

Actually, this 2fort parts was on the Fortress Forever map, because it was a mixture of all the FFs CTF maps (Shutdown2, Openfire, 2morforever, Monkey, Well and 2fort), so I had to justify it somehow on TF2 map. Well, I did. Teufort was brought to the Aardwark by a portal anomaly and the portals on the "Teufort" can bring either powerups or death and leads to many different locations on the map and outside the map. Also you can get into the enemy base (or yours) directly to the intelligence, but the chances are low. So this portals are probably just for the lulz and useless, CTF maps often turn into some kind of truce maps, and I guess such diversity is suitable for peaceful maps.

I cannot but mention the open space on the map. It's Sniper's bliss. In the comments of my Edelweiss map it was written that Edelweiss was made by a sniper player. Well, that's certainly not true, but this map apparently says otherwise... In defense, I will say that I tried to match the open layout of the original Fortress Forever map, although add a lot of cover outs, but snipers are still OP. Bonuses can help a bit against them, this map is a HYBRID map with control points, and if you control yours, you can pick up DEFENSE power up which provides not just protection, but COMPLETE CRIT PROTECTION (headshot crit inclusive)!

To make this map more understandable, I had to make a custom HUD. The HUD is very difficult to customize, so I used a few tricks. Also on this map there is Xen, Borealis and blah blah blah... But who cares? Who even reads this?

If you enjoyed this map, you might also like my other ones. My maps cannot be added yet (however I don't actually need it).
+Also all my maps have a .nav file inside for playing with bots (if anyone needs it).

have you guys not noticed this guy is just pumpin out banger maps really quickly, absolutely love this dudes stuff and im curious how he gets these maps out so quick

Seeing TF2 mappers just acknowledge the existence of Fortress Forever unironically brings tears to my eyes. It makes me wish there was a full fledged remake that had the old fast paced gameplay of TFC/FF but with the artstyle and weapons from TF2

Wonderfully designed map, I'm especially a big fan of the sideflank that takes you through a caved-in 2fort intel room and sewers
