for people curious, I chatted during his stream and Gfaust's issue was that he somehow had the old version still and resubscribing fixed the issue. Still not exactly sure why this happens as that's a pretty old update at this point, but the current version should say 42.2.0a in the author field next to my name.

interesting facts I learned researching pigs:
Piglet hunger multiplier: 0.0005
Sow hunger multiplier: 0.0002 (4x)
Piglet hunger boost: 5
Sow hunger boost: 3

What does hunger boost do? Its kinda complicated but its basically just another multiplier, meaning piglets are basically more than 1/4 of a sow but probably less than 1/2 in terms of how much they eat.

Also, there exist a genetic disorder which causes animals to eat 10x. I'm guessing you're meant to be higher level animal husbandry to see this, but my animal logger mod could help identify this if you want.

(3/2 on that second date)

I wasnt able to recreate this after trying a bunch of scenarios and troughs, so I checked the VOD. I see:

3h45 (3/01 5:10am) 39.69 feed, 0 water (~600 grass)
4h40 (3/01 11:00am) 0 feed, 0 water
There are 22 animals, is it possible they just ate the feed in one day between them? Did it rain? I see there's rain on the ground but I dont know if it actually rained between these periods, and the trough doesnt have any water when you go back to check.

Is this the situation that made you think this or is there another one?

@gfaust hi! I watch your stream. This was a known issue in an earlier version. Can you confirm for me that it says "Lightja 42.2.0a" in the author field for the mod on the homepage mod window? Which troughs? I'm actually familiar with your base lol.
GFaust 5 Feb @ 1:37am
I have a sneaking suspicion that this mod is deleting the feed from my troughs and replacing it with rain when I leave my base. I noticed this was a bug reported before and said to have been fixed. I can say that this is likely still happening because I was doing work in my base over a few days and my feed was going down normally. I left my base while it was raining and came back after a day out scavenging and it was all deleted, and I'm sure they didn't eat it because it was thousands of grass clippings gone in one day.

@kezza596 I tried with the lifestyles mod and didnt get an error. I will try to fix your issue if possible, but I will need some additional info, and probably that debug log I mentioned below. You could also try reinstalling the mod.
Lightja  [author] 1 Feb @ 5:02pm
@Kezza596 can you find your debug log file and copy paste it into pastebin.com and send me a link here? The default Windows location is:
C:\Users\Lightja\Zomboid\Logs\2025-01-31_14-50_DebugLog.txt
You'd just change the user to your windows user.

I don't get this error. Do you have the lifestyles mod by chance? I have heard it has issues with that mod, but I havent seen the error yet.

Now that troughs are considered targets for rain collection, I can't right click them to manually add water, just throws an error. Disabled the mod and I can right click troughs again.
