Important information
Missable achievements: Finders Keepers, Quiet Down Back There!, I May Have Overcommitted and Are You A Wizard?. It is impossible to get all the achievements in one playthrough, mainly because of the speedrun, which is very difficult and requires at least 1 separate playthrough. You can get all the other achievements in one playthrough, but it is not recommended because Quiet Down Back There! doesn't allow you to follow the story progression naturally (or at all). My advice is to not care about achievements in your first playthrough, just complete every level and reunite all animals, for the story. Then you will need multiple tries for the speedrun, and, if you're still up for it, another careful playthrough for I May Have Overcommitted, which shouldn't take much longer than a speedrun.

Controller makes the game much easier, because it has directional controls (in addition to rotational), which are simply not available for keyboard for some reason.
Completion
  • Sacred Geometry
    Collect all 7 geoms
Complete every level with ball-maze puzzle (get every powerup)
  • Billions and Billions
    Collect all 94 stars
    Complete every level
  • Ghost Menagerie
    Reunite all 14 animals
Bring every animal spirit to their skeleton (there must be no skeletons remaining on the world map)
  • Ghost with the Most
Reunite all animals, collect all geoms, collect all stars
Do all of the above in the same playthrough
  • Voy!
    Beat the game
Get all elements, complete all guardian levels and apply these at the black hole.
Terraforming
  • Sploosh
    Make 10 water planets
  • Coast to Coast
    Make 10 earth planets
  • Get Ready to Bounce
    Make 10 air planets
  • Lamplighter
    Make 10 fire planets
  • Let it Go
    Make 10 ice planets
  • The Ol' Razzle Dazzle
    Make 10 gem planets
  • Interstellar
    Terraform 100 planets
All these are easy to grind. You can even terraform the same planet to different kinds over and over.
Special
  • I'm Fabulous
    Reach max hair length
Hair length is kept between levels, so you'll just get this eventually
  • What is Art?
Terraform the biggest planet in the game
Terraform the planet in Spring Tides (3rd branch, with Deer Guardian)
    Source
  • I'm a Leaf on the Wind
Float for 10 minutes without touching the ground
Set up a nice orbit, preferably around exclusively Fire planets and AFK for 10 minutes.
Carry everything
  • Finders Keepers
Carry all 7 planet pieces at once
  • Quiet Down Back There!
Carry all 14 animal spirits at once
  • I May Have Overcommitted
Carry all animal spirits and planet pieces at once
You need to visit every guardian to get their planet pieces, and carry all 14 animal spirits without reuniting them.
If you visit the black hole, you fail. If you reunite even one animal spirit with its skeleton, you fail.
My advice is to try to never pick up any animal spirits to prevent accidents, until the very end, when you have all the planet pieces.
A special remark is needed for the first animal spirit that you see in the game. It is possible, and required, to avoid picking it up as well; the star is available right away, just very far on top.
These achievements will be awarded upon exiting a level.
Speedrun
  • Are You A Wizard?
Speedrun the game in less than 50 minutes
There is a video of a speedrun:

All you need to complete the game is to collect all elements and visit all guardians, then complete the black hole. Find the shortest paths to them. There is no point in skipping early powerups either: they definitely pay off. The one you should skip for sure is the final one (infinity). Dash might also be worth skipping.

In your typical speedrun there should be only 2 skippable cutscenes: at the beginning and with the ship. It's quite sad that 15 minutes per attempt you will be watching annoying cutscenes.

Avoid animal spirits and skeletons: their cutscenes are too costly! You should skip even the very first spirit and get the star in a different way.

If you make big mistakes in the first 10 minutes, it is worth restarting.

The time it takes to travel between levels adds up. The trick here is to remember the direction where you need to move next before entering a level.

The only unusual thing I did in my run is skipping the levels after Earth element, at the end of the 2nd branch, and the Mouse guardian, going to them last. Immaterial powerup replaces terraforming, making their completion much faster, and the fact that you don't use terraforming there will help to ensure you have max hair before going to the black hole.

Developers don't give much details on how exactly time counts here. The only comment is this:

My best guess is that time counts from the very beginning until you get to the center of the black hole. I did that in exactly 49:59, and I got the achievement.

We may never know...
It is unknown how exiting the game (or even to main menu) affects this achievement.

I'm not agree with your initial statement that Finders Keepers it's missable in the first playthrough as the other are, because usually in the first you visit all and get all. Parts of the planet included and you don't lose them when used.

UPD It was the one on the Black hole level, and instead of getting it I just finished the story. Sorry I bothered you! And thanks again for your work.

Hello and thank you for your guide. Could you help me? Stats say that I have 93 stars though I finished all levels and on the star map it is shown like every circle has a star. Don't you know where the problem can be?

Sorry for the late reply, Vixzen, but for the most part you can get achievements that you may have missed it a completed playthrough. However the achievements involving carrying all the planets at once, plus the speedrun achievement, will require a reset in order to get if you don't already have them, as will the animal spirit ones if you reunited even one of them. Otherwise, you just need to keep working towards the achievement until it says you got it.

Can you get achievements that you've missed in a 'completed' play-through? i.e. I forgot to get the 10x gem planet achievement before I finished, and now I can't seem to continue with a completed game to get it. Looks as though I need to restart. Is this correct?

Nice guide. I'd like to add that you do not need 10 of each planet on the screen at once for the terraforming achievements, and you can get those by simply terraforming the same planet over and over.

And as for the speedrun achievement, I believe the in-game timer ends once the credits begin to roll, though I'm not 100% sure on that one. There might have been a difference between the timer you used and the timer the game uses, but that is something that the devs would have to confirm.
