A Centauri Industrial Expansion Ship

The Crusader
Interplanetary
colonization carrier

Background

Started in 2175 and completed in 2181 the crusader is the largest ship by both gross tonnage and displacement to come out of the CIE shipyards in orbit around a gas giant in the Proxima Centauri system. The crusader primary function is to serve as the primary transport and operations center that will allow humans to colonize the neighboring habitable terrestrial worlds in the alpha Centauri binary star systems approximately 1.5 lightyears away. To that end The crusader had to meet several goals previously unheard of in stellar travel for such a large ship. Not only did the ship have to be large enough to carry the population of scientist, colonist, marines and all the related smaller ships, cargo and equipment; it had to be able to operate inside of an alien planets gravity well and atmosphere to provide support while a colony can be established. The Crusader can meet and exceed all the demands of both space and atmospheric travel.

Developer notes

A note on entering atmosphere…

Due to the alphyness of planets and the derpyness of atmo thrusters we recommend you preform reentry in one of two methods
  1. Fly the ship in nose or a$$ first with inertial dampers off. Descend to ~ 3000 m and turn dampeners on and use the main engines to bring the ship to a quick stop. Pitch up/down to bring the atmo hover thrusters online.
  2. Target your landing zone being mindful of terrain. Descend nose pitch between -15 and +5 with air breaks, hover thrusts on and inertial dampeners on. Ship should come to hover somewhere between 1000 m and 500m all on its own. Don’t Panic WE’VE TESTED THIS.


A note about the drone factory.

Due to contunial derpyness with pistons we recomend that you do not use the drone factory at this time. The drone bay is there in the eventuality that KSH accualy fixes pistons so that they dont snap like matchsticks when under load it is there.

It could be the old deformable slanted angle blocks. The ones that were not rounded but had 2 different angles. I know they removed them from the G menu quite a while ago, but blueprints using those blocks still worked. If they have finally removed those blocks from game, it could be those that are generating that warning.
