Additions to Lakeview

Wonderful Lakeview: every adopted child`s favourite home! Many mods elaborate the exterior, but few tackle the inside. This mod seeks to improve Lakeview`s functionality by adding support for Hearthfires Multiple Adoptions (up to 6 children) and an elaborate treasure display. It requires Hearthfires. You need to have HfMA loaded from the beginning of your game to adopt more than two children (This is a function of HfMA. Lakeview Additions does not require it if you only want 2). SKSE is highly recommended.

Despite the fact that the mod is being well-used, there are some cautions I must give:
If you want to build all three BYOH homes, PLEASE DO SO FIRST, as certain changes in Lakeview do remove respective items in the other houses, while building elsewhere, may add unwanted (conflicting) items back in to Lakeview. You may get around the losses with a positionser mod.

Secondly, the options to build will show up in all the homes, but only Lakeview has the actual additions. This will change in a future version of the mod. But this alas, is imperfect, but fun!


It is most likely compatible with other interior Lakeview mods depending on which rooms they change. This one potentially changes some elements of the Great Room, the main upstairs hall, the upstairs Master bedroom and the downstairs Master bedroom, but you can choose to build as many or as few pieces as you choose. It is designed to work with Additions to Lakeview DLC.


IMPORTANT: If you want to utilize the addional beds, you need to build the bedroom wing. If you have already chosen to build something else instead, this element won't appear. You will have to return to an eariler save. The Upstairs and Greatroom element will still work however, as will the DLC.

The mod works best if you build the vanilla elements of the main home FIRST, or at least, the WEAPON RACKS. You may build the moded elements in an empty home, but it causes the Weapon racks to glitch.

Warning: Once you`ve started building the mod elements, please don`t instruct your housecarl to make improvements on your behalf. Chaos will occur!


Hearthfires

A feature of the mod is that you build these element seamlessly with the originals through the BYOH workbenches. This can happen in an empty house, or one that is completely built up.

To build the Treasure displays, the options will appear under containers, furniture and weapon racks on the main Great Room workbench (at the foot of the stairs). This will add storage for Dragon Priest masks, Claws, Daedric artifacts and weapons to the downstairs Great room and upstairs, to the hall and Master bedroom. (warning: in building the Mannequin and Daedric weapon storage, you will lose the satchel by the enchanting table. Empty it first.)

To build two, four or six beds for your adopted children you must first build the master bedroom downstairs. Build vanilla elements on the original workbench. A second workbench will appear just outside the bedroom; use this to add and change the vanilla configuration with the new additions. This bench is toggled to the original and will disappear when you remove it.

To build a more elaborate Master Bedroom upstairs, add the Dawnstar, Wabbajack and the Elder Scroll storage. Using the original upstairs workbench to add "Niches" that enhance the vanilla shelves at the back (please note, you will lose access to the barrel, though not to the strongbox). I've left the shelves empty for use with 'Jaxson's positioner'.

Like the vanilla versions, the crafted furniture cannot be exchanged once built, so take a good look at your progress as you go. And Save! You`ll want to play around with the different configurations possible in the children`s room.

There is a companion mod, Lakeview Additions DLC, that adds the Storage for the Black Books and Elder Scrolls, etc., found in Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Look for it here on Steam!
