No, the mod does not override any vanilla assets or files. The only thing you need to be wary of is our Custom Voice-over pack, which does override some of the vanilla voice sets. We still highly recommend you to use this pack when playing Screaming Steel for the added authenticity and immersion, but you can simply unsubscribe from it if you feel it ruins your vanilla experience.

The killfeed only shows up when using playlists including bots, not pure PvP playlists.
As for your last two requests, I'm honestly not sure what you're talking about. It sounds like you're playing on a custom server, as none of those things are included with the mod.
tnx
New factions were always unlikely to happen due to our team size simply being too small for such a massive workload. The workload couldnt really be justified either, as the playerbase for the vanilla game ended up declining - there was little incentive for us to continue, especially doing work on huge additions.
I mean it as in: I go to practice and there isn't even the option to choose and load the map. I think I spotted something similar in a discussion and you mentioned something about some option to load the game without mods before launching? It doesn't seem like the addons I have installed are being implemented into gameplay so I think that might be the issue, problem is, I don't know where that setting is.
As a test I resubscribed to the mod on my end, and it still works fine both online and offline in practice mode. Are you sure you've selected a Screaming Steel map and one of the gamemodes before launching a match?

Thanks for replying, regardless and thanks for making this ambitions and beautifully put together otherwise mod!
If you play with AI in coop modes they should work just fine. They were never programmed with PvP in mind.

You won’t be able to do that easily. Some weapons are locked to the coop modes, and the MP18 is locked to our two 1918 maps.
Not without a mapper to modify various files. I'm afraid there won't be any more official maps released for this mod, as all development ceased after the last update.
See the comment below yours for the solution.
This apparently causes issues whenever an update to the workshop items are pushed, as Steam will not automatically update workshop items downloaded from servers, resulting in file conflicts when trying to join a server running the updated files. If you've faced this issue, or if you know someone who does we recommend you manually subscribe to our workshop collection:

We've just pushed a small update on the Steam workshop to address some issues.
August 3, 2021 Changelog
- Fixed a big issue in the COOP Raid gamemode on the new Bailleul map where several territory objectives were "undiscoverable". The issue made it impossible for the attacking players to win.
- Fixed some very bad spots in the NAV-mesh used by bots on the Nimy Bridge map.
- Fixed Ross rifle available for the Marksman using wrong thirdperson sounds.
- Slightly lowered volume and attenuation of the whistle sound used in thirdperson.
- Lowered volume and attenuation of the 'use' sound for the Sentry first aid kits.
- Changed the 'bounce' sound of several grenades in the mod.
- Added a custom HUD icon for the No. 5 Mills Bomb which was mistakenly left out of the previous update.
NOTE: Servers need to be restarted by server admins for them to be joinable after this update. If you are unable to join a server, be patient and wait for it to restart.
