I love this. I set it to 100%.
Murmur  [author] 15 Aug, 2024 @ 11:20am
@Ferchu, I'm not sure, I've never tried it.
Ferchu 15 Aug, 2024 @ 2:39am
Hi @Murmur, Is it compatible with VFE - Insectoids 2?
Squirbel 1 Jun, 2024 @ 3:37pm
Thank you so much for the mod.
_Frisk 16 May, 2024 @ 11:18pm
Thank you so much!
Murmur  [author] 27 Apr, 2024 @ 12:14pm

Szottyos Mandarin 27 Apr, 2024 @ 12:13pm
Can i add this to an existing save?
Wolf 14 Apr, 2024 @ 11:54pm

Murmur  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 12:52pm
Yeah i'll have a 1.5 update out before 1.5 officially releases. At least that is the plan.
Bosh 9 Apr, 2024 @ 8:24am
1.5?
Marcus Carnivàle 14 Jan, 2024 @ 3:02am
Keep getting infestations in rooms that are fully lit with this mod enabled. It's the only mod i have enabled.

hero
Svela 19 Apr, 2023 @ 7:37pm
@Murmur Then maybe another mod updated or something. The timing is just coincidental since I installed this mod and had such an interaction soon after. Maybe Alpha Biomes updated with new functionality.
HAZRAD 19 Apr, 2023 @ 11:05am
Very nice mod thank you!
Murmur  [author] 12 Apr, 2023 @ 9:52pm
This mod wouldn't have any effect on that.
Svela 12 Apr, 2023 @ 9:34pm
Just to clarify, the wiki does indeed state that bugs can spawn so long as temperatures are above -17 C. And while Propane Lakes can get as high as 0 C at times, because they are considered an ice sheet it's thus considered impossible outright for them to spawn. Either Alpha Biomes updated their mod to change this, or your mod unlocked the ability for them to spawn. If someone who knows better can correct me then by all means do so.
Svela 12 Apr, 2023 @ 9:18pm
Not entirely sure, but I think this mod has caused me to suddenly encounter an infestation in the Propane Lakes of the Alpha Biomes Mod. Propane Lakes are the equivalent of an Ice Sheet biome, but with unique flora that grows. Infestations aren't supposed to spawn at all in such a biome, and as such I've never encountered an infestation because I tend to play in the Propane Lakes. But while I think it's a bug I don't think it necessarily needs to be fixed. Just adds an extra layer of difficulty, and allows me to finally experience the hell that is infestations. Only thing is, will they be able to survive the -60 C winters like I can? :)
Mauro-.-Bonine 19 Mar, 2023 @ 11:50am
I pray for that thank's
IKM 21 Dec, 2022 @ 8:11pm
Must have mod
EvilNecroid 27 Nov, 2022 @ 9:09pm
omg i always disable infestations but now with this im gonna turn them on and up the spawn chance if i can :p
Myricaulus 23 Oct, 2022 @ 1:17pm
This is one extremly nice mod! Previously i just removed the mountain top via mod to get rid of those bugs in my reactor core room, but this sounds even better!
NotoriousNix 22 Oct, 2022 @ 3:50am
I'd also use this with better infestations if you want to add some challenge back, the infestations that do pop up will be far far worse.
Shinoskay 12 Sep, 2022 @ 7:53pm
Hey murmur, in vanilla I'd agree with you but I went a different rout. Instead, I ramped up the AI and difficulty. raids for me come with animals, raiders that see their buddies hit a trap and they give that path a wide birth, and they will retreat and even grab their buddies that fell so I get less loot.

armor is tougher, raids will split so im hit from multiple sides, and more.

And then I balance this with 'raids go wrong'.
Murmur  [author] 13 Aug, 2022 @ 4:15pm
I hate them because they are tedious. Combat in this game is tedious to begin with. If you can survive a 50 person raid you can survive a 500 person raid, it just takes a lot longer. When I play I massively scale down raid sizes and only use 3 or 4 people to fight. Infestations are a huge pain because when they pop up I have to suddenly micromanage every colonist I have. All the mods I made directly cater to my own playstyle, and I share them in case anyone else feels the same.
Murmur  [author] 13 Aug, 2022 @ 4:05pm
Yeah that is totally doable but I hate these damn bugs so much I wouldn't be the one to do it lol.
cal 4 Aug, 2022 @ 11:50am
thanks mate
Murmur  [author] 4 Aug, 2022 @ 10:47am
Ya it should.
cal 4 Aug, 2022 @ 10:24am
Hi will this mod work if i add it mid game?
Murmur  [author] 7 May, 2022 @ 3:19pm
This mod only effects one specific vanilla incident: the infestation event. If there is any other event that causes insectoids to spawn, this will have absolutely no effect on it.
Jet 7 May, 2022 @ 3:15pm
@murmur what ways are those not affected by this mod? like raids?
kongkim 23 Mar, 2022 @ 4:39pm
Yah its a bit sad they don't work together, both are really good mods to use.
Drewoid 21 Mar, 2022 @ 1:35am
Thank you for the quick response! And thank you for all the work you do on modding, modders truly can make a game unique.
Murmur  [author] 21 Mar, 2022 @ 1:12am
In vanilla there is one main way for the insectoids to show up, and this mod only has an effect on that: the infestation incident. VFE - Insectoids seems to add several new ways for the insectoids to show up, this mod will have no effect on those.
Drewoid 21 Mar, 2022 @ 12:26am
On the FAQ for VFE - Insectiods the author says

"Q: Is this mod compatible with better infestations?
A: Yes, our code doesn’t even touch infestations code!"

Is that just the mod though or infestations vanilla code?
Murmur  [author] 26 Feb, 2022 @ 3:23am
No, VFE completely changes how infestations work.
tw_boring 26 Feb, 2022 @ 2:27am
Yes, don't works with VFE - Insectoids.
Can you support Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids?
Khias 9 Feb, 2022 @ 11:51pm
Guess I could at least give it a try, see what happens.
Murmur  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 11:47pm
I don't think it works. I've never tried it but I assume VFE Insectoids overwrites the default infestation spawning mechanics.
Khias 9 Feb, 2022 @ 11:45pm
Welp. I take it this doesn't work with VFE - Insectoids. Man, this was exactly what I was looking for too, a way to just prevent them from popping up right in the middle of my workshop and destroying all those expensive fabrication benches. Amazing how those little buggers can somehow dig right through through the solid steel flooring in no time at all and proceed to completely wipe the vast array of durable uranium turrets loaded with APHE rounds.
Murmur  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 12:01am
ah yeah that's probably it.
andrius319 21 Jan, 2022 @ 4:00pm
mhh, well i do have vfe insectoids (and better infestations), it could be the reason.
Murmur  [author] 20 Jan, 2022 @ 10:22am
Hmm that shouldn't happen, I thought I specifically made it so it would not spawn in doors for that exact reason...
andrius319 20 Jan, 2022 @ 9:04am
Lmao. I made my whole base lit and infestation happened, it spawned in the door XD. The only spot with 0% light.
kongkim 27 Nov, 2021 @ 2:11pm
I have used both, and sadly it have no effect on were the VFE - Insectoids spawn. Its fine that it don't effect rains and all, but i really miss the ability to light up room to prevent them spawing in the middle of the base, your mod also all a small extra layer to the game that you need to manage the light level in corners of your base etc :)
Murmur  [author] 27 Nov, 2021 @ 1:42pm
I mean, it might work with the standard infestation incident, but as far as I am aware VFE - Insectoids adds raids and stuff for them which wouldn't and couldn't work.
kongkim 27 Nov, 2021 @ 1:34am
I Would still really love to see this mod work with Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids :)
Vastin 12 Nov, 2021 @ 11:23am
Ah, I think I'll start using this. I like having hybrid bases with some overworld and some underworld, but the ability of infestations to appear virtually anywhere underground with no countermeasures were always just a little too frustrating.
Sleepy068 17 Oct, 2021 @ 8:34am
Yeah I really love this mod, makes mountain bases easier to manage and the risk is still very much there. I had a solar flare take out my lights and straight after an infestation right in my mountain base haha.
