Steam Workshop is in BETA! Here's how to play / make mods.
To play mods...
Step 1) Right-click A HAT IN TIME on Steam. Select properties.
Step 2) Go to the 'Betas' tab. Select MODDING SUPPORT BETA from the dropdown.
Step 3) Click OK. Download the beta. Enjoy mods!

To make mods...
Step 1) Do the above steps to get the MODDING SUPPORT BETA
Step 2) Go to the "Tools" tab of Steam
Step 3) Install A HAT IN TIME - MODDING TOOLS
Step 4) Launch and have fun!

I'm having a reoccuring problem: it seems that many custom levels crash the game upon attempting to start them, particularly ones that seem to use a lot of imported assets that were not originally in the game. I am not the only person having this problem, but there are many people not having it. What's going on? Am I missing a .dll file or something?

I have a iMac, (High Sierra) and when I do all these steps, nothing happens. I can't find the button to open mods anywhere. Help?

Me too! I've been trying for an hour now and I still can't seem to get the Mods option to show up. I have the same computer and I've watched several videos, uninstalled and installed the game twice, and nothing. Help!

its not just download the beta, but redownload the whole game.
im thankful for modding capabilities, but my limited data plan is screaming :runecrying:
