Workshop still downloading items I am no longer subscribed to
I wanted to clean my mod list, so I unsubscribed from many mods. I deleted my whole workshop addons folder to clean up my hard drive, and deleted all my save files too. Then, when verifying RimWorld files via steam, it re-downloaded a lot of workshop add-ons that I am not subscribed to any more.

How to make it only download mods that I am currently subscribed to?

Sounds like that verification process itself is flawed.

Have you tried running RimWorld and Steam multiple times to let it catch up to your subscriptions?

If in doubt reset. If it still doesn't work then reset again at a higher level. Try reinstalling RimWorld, Steam, then even eventually your OS. Reinstalling just RimWorld should be enough.
