Why Early Access?

“Shadow Eclipse has been available as a free Playtest for over 2 years and the feedback from the community has already positively impacted the game, helped us find an identity, and led to more than 20 patch updates. Early Access is a way for us to receive even more valuable feedback and collaborate with our players on what they want to see in the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don’t know. We are unsure how long the game will take to fully develop. It’s a safe bet that Shadow Eclipse will be in development for at least another 1.5 years. We want to add more spells, upgrades, bosses, levels, storyline quests, and NPC encounters to create a game with immense replay value and build diversity.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add a lot more content to the game. This includes more spell upgrades, biome diversity, boss fights, quest storylines, unique NPC encounters during runs, as well as any other content suggested from community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“As of 3/1/2024 Shadow Eclipse is a playable game with 7 spells, 20+ upgrades, 10 levels, and 3 bosses. The game also features a peer-to-peer multiplayer game mode, though the multiplayer game mode has some bugs we will iron out during Early Access.

The free Shadow Eclipse Demo contains the first 5 levels.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During Early Access, the game will be priced much lower than the full version. The price may increase over the course of the Early Access period as the game becomes more polished and closer to the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We currently use our Discord server as our primary method to talk to our community. Players are welcome to suggest new features, modifications, and report bugs. Upcoming changes are openly discussed with the community for early feedback.”
