It is a wrap! We are excited to announce the winner of our first-ever international #MiYOSMART Case Study Contest! Huge congratulations to TANG Yan, a Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Optometry doctor from Beijing, China. The final stage of the contest saw five strong contenders - Max Aricochi from Austria, SooJin Nam 👀 from Australia, Tang Yan from China, Daniela Goicea from Romania and Martelie Burger from South Africa present their clinical cases during a live interactive session. TANG Yan, O.D., M.D., Pediatric Ophthalmologist from China secured the win, with her presentation focusing on early-onset high myopia with comprehensive management. For over 80 years, HOYA has stood partnered with and supported Eye Care Professionals, and now, through this innovation education, we’re elevating that partnership to new heights - sharing knowledge, connecting clinical evidence with practice, and shaping the future of vision care together. We are proud to have launched MiYOSMART SUN in China yesterday at the 60th International Myopia Congress (#IMC) in Sanya, China. MiYOSMART SUN uses the groundbreaking Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments Technology, providing effective myopia management spectacle lenses, but now with added sun protection. Dr May Zhang  discussed the results from the Early Experience Program (EEP) focused on the patient experience of MiYOSMART sun solutions lens and Professor Xe Xiangui, a clinical researcher in Shanghai eye hospital, spoke about the expert guidance regarding the use of bright light protection during outdoor activities as a way of preventing and managing myopia in children and adolescents. Pre-IMC Highlights from Changsha, China This year, the International Myopia Conference (IMC), proudly celebrates the 60th anniversary, with over 800 global representatives, including 300 from China already participating in the pre-event activities. As the country with the highest percentage of myopia, China plays a pivotal role not only in tackling myopia but also in the strategic vision of Hoya Vision Care. Our presence was strong, with 70 representatives from across the global. HOYA’s One Vision Day 2024 celebrations in Japan saw employees from the Innovation, Employee Health & Safety, Commercial, and Product Engineering divisions volunteer to teach several classes at the Tokyo Optometric College. Classes included lens engineering, product knowledge, progressive lens science, and eyeglass fashion studies.
