Mission accomplished! Youth leaders, experts, and stakeholders united at the first Asia-Pacific Youth Development Forum yesterday to explore innovative solutions for the green transition under the theme: Dialogue on Youth Innovation for Green Transition to Build Sustainable Cities and Resilient Food Systems. Held at the UNCC in Bangkok, the forum highlighted the importance of empowering young people to achieve the SDGs and meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. In his opening remarks, Gerd Trogemann, Manager, Regional Programme and Global Policy Network, UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub, emphasized that the time for action and collaboration is now, with UNDP's commitment to supporting youth innovation and entrepreneurship for the green transition. #APYDF2024 provided a platform for youth across the Asia-Pacific to present their visions, recommendations, and solutions for advancing green employment and entrepreneurship. Learn more below 👇
Spent a wonderful weekend 2 weeks back attending a Sustainability incubator program organised by WWF-Singapore and Temasek Foundation. What a wonderful opportunity, thanks to Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP) for nominating me to participate. What can I say, honestly, Singapore is up there with their Sustainability game. Visited Hort Park, VidaCity and spent most of my time there at Singapore Sustainability Academy (these places are the literal embodiment of a sustainable city!!). Explored many interesting initiatives from the local start-ups to the institutional level - creative tech and nature-based solutions that are surprisingly inexpensive and simple, embedded in everyday life and practices. The whole program made me reflect on how accessible sustainable practices can be when creativity and practicality come together. Came back super inspired, ready to kickstart my advocacy journey revolving around Sustainability. Something is cooking! Watch this space!
