Gandhinagar: Gujarat's tableau won the ‘Popular Choice' category award at the Republic Day parade for the third straight year. CM Bhupendra Patel congratulated citizens on Wednesday for this feat.
The MyGov platform of the Union govt organises an online poll for the ‘Popular Choice' category, where people can vote for the best Republic Day tableau. This year, Gujarat's tableau was themed, ‘From Anartpur to Ekta Nagar — A Marvelous Confluence of Heritage and Development'. The state's Republic Day tableau won the popular choice award in 2023 and 2024 as well. The theme for the 2024 tableau was ‘Dholavira, World's Best Tourism Village' and in 2023, the tableau was themed, ‘Clean Green Energy Gujarat'.
In the cultural dance competition of the tableau artists, Gujarat's ‘Maniyaro Raas' secured third place, an official statement said.
At the 76th Republic Day parade in New Delhi, 31 tableaux from various states and govt departments were presented on Kartavya Path.
Gujarat's tableau depicted the state's journey from the 12th-century Solanki-era ‘Kirti Toran' in Vadnagar to the 21st-century marvel ‘Statue of Unity', showcasing the state's self-reliance in various development projects like C-295 aircraft production unit, semiconductor chips, and related equipment, as well as the Atal Bridge. tnn
