Mumbai CA and influencer falls off 300-feet hillock near Raigad waterfall while making reel, dies

NAVI MUMBAI: A 27-year-old chartered accountant and social media influencer from Malad, Aanvi Kamdar, died after falling 300ft from a hillock while making a reel close to the Kumbhe waterfall in Mangaon, Raigad district. She was rescued after a six-hour search operation but was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Kamdar was part of a seven-member group of picnickers, who alerted the authorities after she fell into the waterfall.Multiple rescue teams joined the authorities in the search operation amid inclement weather.

One of the rescuers, Shantanu Kuveskar, said, "She fell on the hard, slippery patch of rocks around 300ft into the valley and couldn't be spotted initially. She was sent up using a stretcher attached to rappelling ropes. Six rescuers climbed down the hill, while another 50 assisted atop the hillock."
Kuveskar said that Kamdar was responsive at the time of her rescue and while being rushed to the hospital. "She was on ventilator support on the way to the hospital," he said.
TOI reached out to Kamdar's group but there was no response to texts or calls.
