DM inspects works in Daniyawan, Punpun blocks

Patna: District magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to expedite the ongoing development works at Daniyawan and Punpun blocks that he inspected on the day.
Singh said 419 sports clubs had been established in 309 gram and five nagar panchayats. "There are only 16 gram panchayats left where the setting of sports clubs is still in process. The block development officers concerned have been asked to speed up the work," he said, adding construction of playgrounds was also under progress at 116 panchayats under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The residents of a panchayat in Daniwayan requested for the construction of a 700-800m-long road that would connect to Bihta-Sarmera state highway-78, said Singh, adding the officials have been directed to look into the matter.
Among other instructions, he ordered speedy completion of sports field and boundary wall of a high school in the block, along with a community healthcare centre under construction and beautification and renovation of a pond under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Mission.
Singh also inspected the proposed navigation stretch for construction of the missing link of Punpun railway station-Akauna SH-78.
On request of students of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar residential school (Punpun), the DM directed the officials concerned to set up of a robotics laboratory.
