Patna: Over 12.92 lakh students will sit for the
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Intermediate exams at 1,677 centres across the state from Feb 1 to Feb 15. The number of girl and boy examinees stands at 6.42 lakh and 6.50 lakh, respectively, said BSEB chairman Anand Kishor on Thursday.
A total of 75,917 candidates (including 37,174 girls and 38,743 boys) will take the exam at 85 centres in Patna. The exams will be conducted in two shifts, beginning at 9.30am and 2pm.
Issuing guidelines for the smooth conduct of the exams, the BSEB chairman advised students to arrive at their respective centres an hour early. "The main gate of the exam centres will be closed half an hour before the commencement of the tests. The candidates are therefore advised to reach on time," he said.
The BSEB chairman asked the officials concerned to ensure that all exam centres have boundary walls and to deploy adequate police forces where temporary enclosures are arranged. "Section 144 will remain in place within a 200-metre radius of examination centres and no unauthorised entry should be allowed near the centres," Kishor said, adding that examinees would be frisked at two levels – once at the entrance gate and again inside the examination hall by the invigilator.
The chairman added that no one except the centre superintendent would be permitted to carry a cellphone inside the examination hall. "Sufficient CCTV cameras should be installed and arrangements must be made for a videographer for every 500 candidates," he said, asking all invigilators to report to their centres on Jan 31.
The BSEB has also established a control room and a WhatsApp group comprising district officers, district education officers, nodal officers and senior BSEB officials to facilitate swift information exchange. "The control room will remain functional from Jan 31 to Feb 15," Kishor said.
All subjects will have 10 sets of question booklets with 50% of the questions being objective type.
