The wrestling world has seen its fair share of heroes and villains, but rarely do two high-profile figures face similar hostility from the audience on the same stage. On two separate occasions of WWE Raw on Netflix, two conflicting figures
Hulk Hogan and
Logan Paul were welcomed with overwhelming boos and hate comments, signaling a shift in fan sentiment towards both the past and future of WWE.
Hulk Hogan’s Fall from Grace
Once one of WWE’s most beloved icons, Hulk Hogan’s legacy has been tarnished in the eyes of many fans. When he appeared on Netflix’s first-ever WWE Raw broadcast earlier this month, he was met with
punches of boos rather than the hero’s welcome he might have expected.

The reaction to Hulk Hogan’s recent appearance at WWE’s Netflix deal announcement was shaped by multiple factors:
Past Controversies - Hogan’s history of racial remarks, which led to his removal from the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015, has left a lasting stain on his reputation. Many fans, especially younger audiences, have not forgiven or forgotten.
Political Ties - His vocal support for former U.S. President Donald Trump has polarized opinions, particularly in liberal-leaning cities.
Self-Promotion - Instead of focusing on WWE’s landmark deal with Netflix, Hogan used his airtime to
promote his new “Real American Beer” brand, which further enraged fans.
The reception Hogan received was a stark reminder that nostalgia alone is no longer enough to earn fan support. WWE’s modern audience is more vocal and demanding, holding even legends accountable for their past and present actions.
Logan Paul: The WWE Heel Fans Love to Hate
Unlike Hogan, Logan Paul is still in the early years of his WWE career, yet he already has a reputation as one of the most controversial figures in wrestling today. The January 28 episode of WWE Raw saw him receive one of the loudest negative reactions in recent history.

Paul, who currently holds the WWE United States Championship, interrupted a segment between Seth Rollins and Gunther, announcing his entry into the upcoming Royal Rumble match. Instead of cheers, the crowd erupted in
deafening boos and “You suck” chants.
If that wasn’t enough, Paul made things worse by
ripping up a young fan’s Conor McGregor sign on his way to theng. While likely a heel move intended to generate heat, it only intensified the crowd’s grudge toward him.

But despite the boos, some WWE veterans, including Tommy Dreamer, have
praised Paul’s ability to handle the negativity, even suggesting he has what it takes to be a future WWE Champion.
“Logan Paul did something I loved. He stood his ground, he did not let anyone bother him,” Dreamer said. “ But the great ones can talk through a heated segment which Logan Paul did. And he stated his case as to why he is going to win the Royal Rumble, and he is going to be the main event of WrestleMania, and the fans, as I said, hate him. That's why I say Logan Paul will be your WWE Champion one day."
Still, the reaction he received on January 28 raises the question: Is Logan Paul truly evolving into WWE’s most hated heel, or is he simply not accepted by the wrestling fanbase?
A Reflection of WWE’s Changing Landscape
The negative crowd reactions towards both Hogan and Paul illustrate how much WWE’s audience has evolved. Hogan’s downfall represents a rejection of past mistakes and outdated attitudes, while Paul’s boos reflect the resistance fans have towards influencers and celebrities stepping into WWE’s sacred ring.
While the hate might sting, it also signifies engagement. In professional wrestling, being booed is often just as valuable as being cheered. For Hogan, the path back to fan admiration may be closed, but for Paul, the rejection might just be the fuel he needs to become one of WWE’s greatest modern villains.
