The increasing production of counterfeit shoes poses a significant threat to both the sector and the national economy. This trend leads to unfair competition and tax losses, resulting in billions of liras of annual cost to Turkey. Moreover, the proliferation of counterfeit products can tarnish the country's image abroad and undermine trustworthiness perception, potentially affecting exports and contributing to an increase in the current account deficit. According to this published news, the damage of imitation shoes to the country's economy is around 30 million TL. Controlling the production of counterfeit shoes is crucial for the healthy growth of both the sector and the economy.
