The Regulation on the Procedures and Principles on the Cross-Border Personal Data Transfers entered into force today. Rules on crypto assets and crypto trading platforms entered into force in Turkey today. The Law Amending the Capital Markets Law No. 6362 introduces novel provisions on crypto assets and their service providers and platforms, in addition to the custody of crypto assets, the crypto asset trading and transfer transactions. For the first time in Turkey, the Artificial Intelligence Law Proposal, with the aim to regulate the use of artificial intelligence technologies, has been submitted to the Grand National Assembly. Consisting of 8 articles, the proposal addresses the topics of risk management and assessment, compliance and audit, violations and sanctions.

Turkish Patent and Trademark Office fees are updated for 2024!   On April 24th, the Communiqué on the Fee Tariff to be applied by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2024 was published on the Official Gazette, increasing the fees for the transactions related to industrial property rights. Furthermore, the fee for trademark revocation, which is newly assigned to the Office, is determined for the first time.   The fees that will apply to some trademark transactions are shown in the table below (additional fees and taxes are not included):
