Most continental courts routinely anonymise individuals' names in judgments. This has always sat oddly with UK lawyers and journalists accustomed to our brand of #openjustice. The European Court of Justice might soon create an exception to that rule. A reference by Latvia's Supreme Court has asked whether the need to make information about sanctioned individuals available could override their #GDPR rights.
