Today, we delve into the second critical element of the #TrustMaintain project: Trusted Data Transmission. This component, alongside Data Collection and AI-driven analytics, forms the backbone of our predictive maintenance solution for non-fully digitalized ring spinning machines. After data is collected, it must be transmitted securely to our monitoring platform. We ensure this by using encrypted Wi-Fi connections that protect data from unauthorized access. To add an extra layer of security and transparency, blockchain technology records and verifies all data transactions. This decentralized ledger guarantees the integrity and immutability of the data, a key requirement for any trusted predictive maintenance system. The #TrustMaintain project is advancing the future of textile manufacturing by implementing a "Trusted Predictive Maintenance System" for non-fully digitalized ring spinning machines. This system is built on three foundational pillars: Data Collection, Trusted Data Transmission, and an advanced AI System. In this post, we spotlight the crucial first step: Data Collection. Utilizing IIoT technology, 15 ring machines were equipped with temperature and RPM sensors connected to low-power microcontrollers. These installations, powered and connected via an industrial-grade router, are designed to ensure continuous, high-quality data capture from machines that are not fully automated. Accurate data collection is the bedrock of any predictive maintenance system. Our investment in Industry 4.0 technologies ensures that we gather reliable data, which is essential for the precise prediction of maintenance needs and the prevention of machine downtime.
