Art can be entertainment and art can be therapy, but did you know it can also be activism? 🎨 Sedra, Plan International Canada's Youth Ambassador and co-founder of Elegant Art, uses the power of art to tell stories that inspire change! She and her younger sister sell plantable (post cards that you can plant to grow flowers –isn't that unique) post cards that feature their own hand drawn pictures. They partner with the Molham Team and donate the money raised from their postcard sales to support children living in refugee camps in northern Syria. This is a cause very near to their hearts. Sedra’s family had to flee Syria when war broke out in 2011. “I do what I do because I feel for all the people who go through harsh difficulties in their life – difficulties that were brought upon them,” says the 16-year-old . “And kids, especially, make my heart ache, because I was once a kid who saw all the horrors around me.” This #InternationalDayofTheGirl2024 we’re standing in solidarity with girls who live in conflict around the world.
