🌐 The Real Challenge of Artificial Intelligence – Insights from Professor Professor R 'Bob' Garratt "Artificial intelligence as it is developing at the moment is neither really artificial nor intelligence." – Professor Bob Garratt 💡 In a world captivated by the rapid advancements in AI, Professor Bob Garratt shares a thought-provoking perspective. He describes AI as a "wonderful fad" that is attracting massive investments and state interest, especially in places like California. However, with this swift progress, he warns of the risks, saying that AI is "breaking a lot of things," including important cultural elements. Garratt underscores a crucial point: the transformation of data into meaningful information is inherently "a very human activity." While AI can mechanize certain processes to a great extent, it often lacks the nuance and depth required for true learning and understanding. His concerns echo growing calls for legislation to protect against the unchecked power of AI, especially from big tech. 📊🤖 Join us to delve deeper into this vital conversation on the future of AI, governance, and the human element in the digital age. 👉 Learn more about our events: https://lnkd.in/eEyk35f #CCGI #CorporateGovernance #CaribbeanGovernance #AI #ArtificialIntelligence

🌟 Insights into Strategic Partnerships and Resilience in Banking 🌟 "In times of economic challenges, strategic partnerships can pave the way for resilience and growth." - Islay McGlynn 💡 During the early 1930s, Maduro's Bank in Curacao exemplified this principle. It began as a collaboration between two brothers-in-law—one brimming with entrepreneurial spirit and the other seasoned with business experience. Amid the Great Depression, a pivotal merger took place between Curiel’s Bank (founded in 1927) and Maduro's Bank. This merger was a pragmatic move that strengthened the financial position of both institutions, eliminated competition, and brought about economies of scale. The newly formed "Maduro and Curiel’s Bank" became a beacon of strategic foresight and resilience during uncertain times. 📈🤝 Join us to explore more about such transformative governance strategies at our upcoming events. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eEyk35f #CCGI #CorporateGovernance #CaribbeanGovernance #BankingHistory #StrategicPartnerships #Resilience #GovernanceInsights
