Licha ya kuwa na manufaa kwa wataalam kwa kuongeza uzoefu, pia mkutano huu utawapa wahandisi uniti za maendeleo ya kitaaluma "PDU" kutoka ERB kama ilivyokuwa kwa mwaka Jana. Wizara ya Maji kupitia Idara ya Rasilimali za Maji ina jukumu la kuhakikisha mabwawa ya maji na tope sumu yanakidhi vigezo vya usalama wa mabwawa kwa mujibu wa Sheria ya Rasilimali za Maji Na. 11 ya Mwaka 2009 na maboresho yake Na. 8 ya Mwaka 2022. Pamoja na kanuni za usalama wa mabwawa GN 237 za mwaka 2013 na mabresho yake GN 55 ya mwaka 2020. Wizara ya Maji na Chemba ya migodi inawakaribisha wataalam kuhudhuria mafunzo haya adhimu. 🌐🌍Big Milestone: AngloGold Ashanti Tanzania (GGML) Transitions to Grid Electricity 🇹🇿 We are thrilled to share a significant development for the AngloGold Ashanti Tanzania (GGML). On August 13, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Dr. Doto Biteko inaugurated a new 34 MW power substation, marking GGM's transition from fuel to grid electricity for its operations—a move that will greatly reduce operational costs and increase efficiency. ⚡️ This project, a collaboration between the Government and GGM, symbolizes the strong partnership between the public and private sectors. tanescoyetutz constructed a 33 kV power line at a cost of TZS 8.04 billion, while GGML invested USD 24 million in building the power substation. By switching to grid electricity, GGM is expected to save on fuel costs, which previously stood at TZS 13.4 billion per month, and contribute more to government revenues, creating jobs and enabling expansion. This is a testament to President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan's commitment to fostering a supportive environment for the private sector. Dr. Biteko extended congratulations to GGML for prioritizing local companies in its operations, reinforcing the Government of Tanzania's commitment to empowering domestic businesses. Kudos to the Ministry of Energy team, TANESCO, and all partners involved for making this project a reality. The transition will also significantly boost TANESCO's revenue, with an expected increase of TZS 2 to 3 billion per month. A special thanks to previous Energy Ministers, Dr. Medard Kalemani and January Makamba, for their oversight during the early stages of this project.
