During September, Walkabout received a significant increase in sales orders, with larger volume sales orders bound for new end customers in China and India totalling 800 tonnes. More than 60% of the volume ordered is for coarse flake graphite. Pictured are our bags of bagged flake graphite concentrate, ready to be loaded onto the next truck out of Lindi Jumbo. We are ramping up production to meet nameplate capacity, having produced more than 4,000 tonnes of graphite since first production in June. As we expect follow on orders of both coarse and fine flake graphite from our pilot orders from Europe and Asia, we’re seeing robust demand for our premium product offering. #Walkabout #WalkaboutResources #ASX #ASXNews #Graphite #GraphiteConcentrate

🚧 Barrick Gold to Construct 73.9 KM Tarred Road in Kahama 🚧 📍 Kahama, Tanzania In a significant boost to local infrastructure, Barrick Gold Mining Company is set to fully fund and construct a 73.9 km tarred road connecting Kahama to Bulyanhulu, valued at over 100 billion shillings. This ambitious project is expected to be completed within 27 months, enhancing regional connectivity and economic activity. During a recent press briefing on Barrick’s joint development initiatives with the Tanzanian government, Melkiory Ngido, Barrick’s Tanzania Manager, outlined the economic and social benefits of the project. “This road will greatly ease transport, allowing Kahama residents to engage more effectively in economic activities and access essential services,” Ngido stated. This project is part of Barrick’s broader commitment to local development. The company has already invested over 2 billion shillings in infrastructure, including water drainage in Kakola and Bushingwe villages, as well as the construction of the Bunango VETA Technical College and various health and education initiatives near the Bulyanhulu mine. Community Support: Local leaders, like Edward Shija, Chairman of Ilogi village, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the project has involved community input from the outset. “The new road will enable faster access to services in Kahama and surrounding areas, supporting business, health, and education,” Shija highlighted. This development underscores Barrick’s commitment to sustainable investment and positive community impact in Tanzania. 🌍 Barrick

We’re pleased to announce that Peak Rare Earths has received firm commitments for a $6 million two-tranche institutional placement aimed at progressing the journey of our Ngualla Project towards a Final Investment Decision.   Tranche 1 of the placement has raised approximately $4 million, with an additional $2 million anticipated from a conditional Tranche 2. We’re also pleased to share that our largest shareholder, Shenghe, has committed to increase its stake to 19.9% through the Tranche 2 investment, subject to regulatory and shareholder approval.   In addition to welcoming our new investors, we’re offering existing eligible shareholders the opportunity to participate at the same placement price through the upcoming Share Purchase Plan. This initiative is expected to raise up to $2 million and will provide our shareholders with a chance to participate.   The funds raised will primarily support transaction costs related to the finalisation of our proposed investment, funding and development agreement with Shenghe. Additionally, this capital will help advance the Ngualla Project to a Final Investment Decision.   Our Executive Chairman, Dr Russell Scrimshaw AM, commented: “This capital raising will support a continuation of Peak’s strong momentum as we progress our planned investment, funding and development transaction with Shenghe and the Ngualla Project towards a Final Investment Decision. I would like to welcome our new shareholders and thank Shenghe and other major shareholders for strongly supporting the raising. I am also pleased that other eligible shareholders will be provided an opportunity to invest at the same issue price through a Shareholder Purchase Plan.”   Read the full announcement here: https://bit.ly/3Cb6rvP   #PeakRareEarths #PEK #NguallaProject #RareEarths #ASX

On Saturday 2nd November 2024, Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) took a vital step in supporting healthcare for children in Tanzania by donating Tsh. 54,000,000/= ($20,000) to the JAKAYA KIKWETE CARDIAC INSTITUTE. The donation, which will help fund critical surgeries and medical care for children with heart ailments, marks another milestone in GGML’s ongoing efforts to enhance health services in the country, reaffirming our dedication to uplifting the health and well-being of the nation’s youngest and most vulnerable members. Heart disease remains a significant challenge in Tanzania, particularly among children who require specialized treatment that is often beyond the financial reach of many families.
