Ukraine introduces the reboot of its customs and presents new changes aimed at aligning national customs regulation with the EU norms. Some changes will come into effect in spring 2025. #NewWins  INTEGRITES has successfully protected interests of the client, the Ukrainian branch of one of the world’s leading steel and mining groups, as respondent in a London-seated LCIA arbitration. The dispute concerned the payment for coal products of Russian origin delivered to the client by a Cypriot company prior to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and respective assignment agreement to the new creditor. Sharing knowledge with arbitration community 🎓 Olena Perepelynska, Partner at INTEGRITES, acts as the only trainer from Ukraine in the “ICC Comprehensive Training on Arbitration Practice.” This joint educational project is organized by ICC Poland International Chamber of Commerce and the Faculty of Law and Administration of Jagiellonian University in Kraków, under the patronage of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris (ICC), and runs from October 2024 to January 2025. The training provides in-depth insights into arbitration as a tool for resolving complex commercial and investment disputes, with a focus on the ICC Arbitration Rules of 2021, as well as practical skill-building for future arbitration practitioners, with an emphasis on best practices in client representation. The last week ended with our participation in the UBA's Annual Corporate Law Forum, where partner Anna Pogrebna co-moderated the session on private investment. The panelists - representatives of the state and foreign investors, peer firms - discussed the hottest issues of concern to the international business community. They discussed the Law on so-called investment nannies - how it works, and what steps would help improve coordination between government bodies and agencies which approve projects with significant investments. The panelists highlighted, in particular, UkraineInvest - Ukraine Investment Promotion Office‘s activities as a promoter of Ukraine in the international arena and an entry point to the Ukrainian market for many foreign companies. They also discussed the experience of German business in obtaining investment guarantees from the German government and how it could relate to the implementation of projects with significant investments in Ukraine. Kudos to the organiser, Ukrainian Bar Association, whose leadership and team consistently facilitate dialogue between Ukraine and international business interested in our jurisdiction.
