Ability Sports Africa

Playing precious boccia game in rural schools of Amuru District, this game gives opportunities to children with disabilities through the concept of reverse inclusion to include their peers in adaptive games and sports hence achieving inclusion, reduces discrimation and above all is changing the negative attitudes towards disabilities. Even with the challenges of adaptive sports equipments their is elements creativity by the children to make balls from locally available materials which has kept them busy and active in school. We are very happy for this development and will continue striving to introduce inclusive sports to more schools and communities within Uganda communities including refugees settlements. To all well wishers, donors, sports organisation interested in fostering inclusion in Sports without anyform of barriers and would love to give opportunities to children with disabilities to enjoy sports, we are open to any form of support to achieve this in Uganda 🇺🇬 Every child has the rights to play and enjoy sports regardless of their gender, race, disability and religion. Knowledge is key for inclusion, We are building capacity of games and sports teachers in 30 schools in Uganda on inclusive skills of adapting games and sports to suit the ability of children with different forms of disabilities. 60 games teachers are well equipped with all the skills through support from Save the Children International

Disability Games are the most loved games in Schools we worked with, child always crowed around and are always interest to experience how its like to be blind folded to play the game. the challenges we face is we dont have this equipment available in the open market in Uganda.
