The judgement dismissing Alcon International’s demands for financial compensation marks the end of the protracted litigation that started 26 years ago. We have always been confident that the Fund would prevail given that the whole case by Alcon International was premised on fraudulent actions, which fact was confirmed by the Supreme Court in 2013, and by the High Court in 2019 during a retrial of the case. Our decisions over the years to continuously pursue the interest of the Fund and its members have been vindicated. The Fund is in possession of the Certificate of Title for Workers House, the key subject of the litigation, free of any encumbrances. We are also grateful to our internal and external lawyers, past and present, who have defended numerous Alcon suits against the Fund. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dnUddggw
