Yesterday our Chief Executive, Catherine A Poran, paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar General of Uganda Registration Services Bureau URSB to discuss their long-standing relationship. The key points of discussion included: 1. Collaborative efforts to formalize small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Uganda. 2. Raising awareness among companies about intellectual property. 3. Educating the youth on protecting digital content in today’s digital age. 4. Establishing a business innovation hub to support innovators and foster cutting-edge inventions. Both organizations committed to working together to help SMEs formalize their operations through registration, provide resources through the business innovation hub, and raise awareness about intellectual property. #SBILPartnerships

As part of our Client Appreciation Month (Love Month), we hosted a session titled "Risk Management & Resilience: Leaving No One Behind." Entrepreneurs, industry experts, and stakeholders discussed key business challenges in Uganda, such as access to finance, high taxes, technological barriers, and regulatory compliance. Keynote speaker Peninah Aheebwa, Director of Economic and National Content Monitoring at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, highlighted emerging opportunities in Uganda’s entrepreneurial landscape. A panel discussion featuring industry leaders, including Harold B. Ssemalwadde, Josh M., Timothy Murungi, and Denis Kamira Tusubira, offered valuable strategies on resilience, risk management, and adaptation. The event underscored inclusive strategies for SMEs, particularly women and youth. Attendees had the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and explore collaborations. As Stanbic Business Incubator, this event reinforced our mandate: "Uganda is our home, we drive her growth." We will continue supporting SMEs through access to finance, markets, and business skills. #SBILNetwork2Networth
