A team of 40 officers from the Air Operation Command Centre (AOCC) in Nsamizi, led by Deputy Commandant, Maj. Moses Wanyakara visited Entebbe International Airport on a benchmarking tour of the Air Navigation Services on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The Acting Manager of Air Traffic Management, Mr. David Mwitabangoma, briefed the officers on the functions of Air Navigation Services, including Aeronautical Information Management, and Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance. The visit concluded with a guided tour of the services and facilities at the Directorate of Air Navigation Services.

Earlier this morning, the Deputy Director General of Uganda CAA, Ms. Olive B. Lumonya, opened a week-long training facilitated by the UK Government, running from October 14-18, 2024, in Entebbe. The workshop is aimed at enhancing the skills of aviation security officers and supervisors in implementing additional security measures to enhance capacity. The DDG encouraged participants to engage actively and apply the knowledge gained to implement appropriate preventive security measures in order to ensure that Uganda and the global civil aviation remain fully protected from acts of unlawful interference.
