Earlier Today! The 1st Presidential Dialogue on water, sanitation, and hygiene-#WASH in Uganda. . Together, we can ensure that all 45.9 million Ugandans, including children, have access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene-#WASH. Let’s prioritize WASH financing for resilient communities. #ForEveryChild #SDG6 Speaking at the dialogue, UNICEF representative to Uganda, Robin Nandy emphasized that access to safe #WASH is not just about health—but about giving every child the opportunity to thrive and succeed. He commended the Government of Uganda’s efforts and UNICEF's continued support on the journey toward universal access. Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja while representing His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, stated that preventable diseases continue to ravage communities and that the Government of Uganda is working across all levels of government to ensure that this is a thing of the past. "The #COVID19 pandemic showed us how important handwashing is, it was the frontline tool to fight the pandemic, what we need are resources, we already have the political will right from the President down to the lowest political leadership in the country," she added. The Presidential Dialogue was organized by the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (UPF-WASH) under the theme: 'Building Resilient Communities: Prioritizing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Financing and Investment.

Imagine a world where every child's mental health is as important as their physical health. UNICEF and partners are urging governments to prioritize mental health in every family, school, workplace and community, ensuring children and their families get the support they need by promoting the extension of public mental health services such as access to trained counsellors, para-social workers and probation officers. #OnMyMind
