What a lovely team day out we’ve had for Elizabeth Blackledge’s birthday, perfect timing for #worldmentalhealthday. We learnt/remembered some plant names (spot the fig leaf, anyone?), observed how various plants behave in autumn, saw some fabulous insects, and supported the #NationalTrust at the cafe and gift shop (the right thing to do). Different areas of the design responded to suggestions made by the school community, including the pupils. We’ve picked ‘25 projects for 25 years’ - this is Sowerby Bridge. An exciting large scale master planning exercise for the town of Sowerby Bridge in Calderdale. We considered transport routes, and how to improve active travel options through this area of air quality concern. We’ve picked ‘25 projects for 25 years’ - this is Ash Green. This active travel project, for the area around a school in Halifax, is a project that 2B has been involved with from master planning through to detail. The scheme will see roads closed to through traffic, wider pavements and roadside rain gardens, making an attractive environment to encourage walking and wheeling school journeys. The community has been involved and enthused, and a local charity will lead a community maintenance team.
