To celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth, several of our services have been looking at various elements of black history and culture. The young people at Ivetsey Bank Hospital, our child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) in Staffordshire, have created portraits in the style of Jean-Michel Basquiat who broke down barriers to elevate the status of black art while exploring black identity and challenging stereotypes. While patients at Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Bristol, and Holybourne Hospital, our acute mental health service for adults in London, have both been exploring British black culture and music.

Residents at Moorpark Place had lots of fun on a recent pumpkin hunt. 🔍🎃 It was hard work searching for the pumpkins, so afterwards they enjoyed tea, coffee and biscuits in their hub! ☕🍪 What a lovely way to spend an autumnal day! They've been getting into the #Halloween spirit at Gravel Hill by making some pumpkin arts and crafts! Some patients and the team at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York have been busy creating spooktacular arts and crafts. 🎃 The occupational therapists and rehabilitation assistants ran an art group and helped the patients create table centre pieces for their Halloween celebrations. 🕷🕸 We think they look great! #Halloween #ArtsandCrafts

You may remember Sean, the resident at Moorpark Place, who started a walking adventure with Senior Support Worker, Guy Busby? Well, they've conquered their next walking milestone, with both having scaled Scafell Pike as part of their National Three Peaks challenge. 🚶⛰️ Last year they reached the summit of Ben Nevis and have plans for Mount Snowden next year to complete the set. Karen Liddle, a chef at Granville Lodge, our children's complex care service in Hartlepool, has been bringing joy to the children there by creating vibrant artwork in addition to preparing delicious meals. 🎨👩🍳 Using her background in art, Karen transforms spaces with colourful underwater scenes and seasonal garden displays, making sure all children, including those with visual impairments, can enjoy her work.
