Some of the Active Lincolnshire team joined up with staff from Nicholsons Chartered Accountants and Simons Design this lunchtime for a litter pick around the vicinity of the office. It was a good way to do something positive for the environment, as well as meet colleagues from our building and to get our lunchtime steps in! The litter pick was organised by student Kouki who is doing a work placement with us as part of his course. Kouki, from Tokyo is studying at University of Lincoln and his dissertation is looking at the difference in culture of volunteering in sport and physical activity in our two countries. Thank you to ONE NK and North Kesteven District Council for helping provide the equipment for the litter pick, and offering to collect the full litter bags. Thanks also to Scott Dalton who talked to Kouki and our CEO Emma, about the litter picking project on his BBC Radio Lincolnshire show this morning. You can listen to the interview on catch up https://lnkd.in/eQyqbQSQ at 2:17:00

✨ Over the past sixth months the Active Lincolnshire team have been recording their ‘Active Minutes’. ⏰ Collectively from January to June we have recorded an impressive total of 71,331 active minutes. As a team our most active month was May, where on average per person we were completing 511 minutes per week. National guidelines for physical activity recommended at least 150 active minutes a week. 🏀 Throughout the sixth months, the team’s minutes were spent engaging in a variety of activities such as wheelchair basketball, cycling, yoga, dance, badminton and running! 🚲 Our marketing and communications lead Charlotte has started a new yoga class, Business Administrator Rosie has joined a new dance class and a walking group, our CEO Emma has done lots of cycling including the Lincs C2C2C annual 100 mile charity ride and Ian Brown our EDI manager has coached and played many hours of wheelchair basketball! We’ll keep sharing our stories, and see if we increase our activity levels for the next part of the year. #EveryMoveCounts #LetsMoveLincolnshire How do you and your colleagues stay active? ⬇ Ian Brown Dom Fieldhouse-Gray Gemma Skaley Paul Chandler Charlotte Pedley Donna Sutton Richard Bell Lindsay Parker, Rosie Grimes, Laura Spurr Emma Tatlow

🚲 It's #NationalCycleToWorkDay 😍 I missed the showers and had a lovely 30 minute ride to the office. 🌍 It cleared my head, set me up for the day, saved on sitting in traffic, petrol and carbon emissions. Win, win, win! If you don't already cycle to work, why not give it a try. It can soon become a habit and a positive part of your day. Anyone else cycled to work today? #EveryMoveCounts #LetsMoveLincolnshire Active Lincolnshire
