We believe easy access to relevant physical activity opportunities is a human right for anyone, globally.

About us

We securely unlock the value of the sector’s first-party data for a network of 1,000+ organisations to collectively achieve commercial and social returns from more active and healthy communities. We help you make data-driven decisions. We connect traditionally siloed data, so our partner organisations can better connect with their communities - residents, members, customers and stakeholders. Leading to right offer, right place, right time. More people, more active, more often. For this service we have won multiple industry awards. ActiveXchange builds networks of relevant member, player and participant data, working with third party registration system providers to create up to date market intelligence. Critically, we also centrally invest into additional demographic, profiling, movement and infrastructure data, enabling our data science team to generate powerful predictive models, often using machine learning (AI). The intelligence leads to participation, social value and commercial returns for our clients. Relevant for facility operators, sports, all tiers of government, and sector partnerships, agencies and peak bodies. Such a great event to be part of yesterday. The quality of organisation from members of the Sports Technology Alliance was outstanding. Venue, content, and audience engagement was second to none. We can't wait to see how these events continue to evolve and it's clear that this event is quickly becoming the hottest ticket in town. Huge thanks to all those involved in organising from Sport:80, etrainu, ActiveXchange UK/Europe, Cherry Hub, Rosterfy, Coordinate Sport, DMC Sport, Globocol Limited. We were very pleased to join the panel for the first session, with Alex Burrows alongside Jonny Turner, Paul Whapham and Chris Timms, expertly chaired by Andrew Hicks, sharing our exciting, collaborative innovations to help governing bodies to connect with retail and commerce, driving investment back to community sport. The energy and interest in the room was clear, so watch this space because the game is about to change.

    Chief Operating Officer

Yesterday something special happened. A vision had for well over 2 years, came to life in the form of our first Sports Technology Alliance event. Bringing together over 70 industry professionals, into one room, for a day of discussion, learning and demonstration of what is possible through technology and best practice. When we formed the Sports Technology Alliance we wanted to create a community within a community. A group of people who have sports best interests firmly at heart, with a passion for innovation and best in class technology solutions. This community is for all within our sector, not just our customers or current partners. We want people to come to us for advice, for guidance or simply to bounce ideas around. Most importantly we want to foster a culture whereby every organisation or individual in our sector can access the right people/technology at the right time. For those that attended yesterday, I hope the sessions delivered were insightful and stimulated ideas. Most importantly I hope we delivered on our vision. Personally, I was excited to share our work with ActiveXchange UK/Europe as part of our panel session, where we believe we are in position to provide sports sector its 'Clubcard moment'. Bringing brands directly to NGBs and creating revenue generating opportunities through intelligent use of data. Thanks to Andrew Hicks for guiding the session and keeping it on topic... Huge thanks to all of those who contributed to making the day a success: Cameron O'Riordan Paul Hoon Courtney Stuhmcke Andrew Hicks Alex Burrows Ben Jones Jack Waddingham Samantha Vincent Eddie Prentice John Munro Chris Dobson Dino DiPierdomenico Businesses that contributed to deliver this: Sport:80 etrainu Coordinate Sport ActiveXchange UK/EuropeGlobocol Limited Rosterfy DMC Sport Cherry Hub Also, a massive thanks to those who very kindly agreed to be a part of our panel discussions: Adam Freeman-Pask Janie Frampton OBE Arran Coggan Paul Whapham Chris Timms Keith Oddy Densign White MBE Joy Walker Kate Oliver Annabel Timmins Gabby Shirley Nick Pryde Alicia Blazey Finally, thanks to all that took time out of busy schedules to come and join in. We were blown away. We plan for there to be many more days like this, so please keep your eyes peeled for future dates! On that note... We'll be hosting a similar event in Anaheim, USA, in September where once again all in our network will be welcome to join us. More information to follow.

A new funding option for sport and leisure is emerging, leveraging existing data, bringing commercial brands closer to our sector. So organisations are less reliant on govt and have the resources to reach further. Great to share the latest on progress in the UK with some of our partners and network today. And well played Jonny Turner Sport:80 Cameron O'Riordan Andrew Hicks and your respective teams - cracking vision, the Sport Tech Alliance event series is born! 🤓👏 ActiveXchange UK/Europe

  • Here's another example of the significant role that movement data could play in supporting important agendas. Understanding trends of use over time in *any* open space can provide robust and objective evidence that simply isn't feasible in other ways. By generating reports of use over time, we can deepen understanding of the impact of sewage pollution, and make the case for addressing it in order to improve our environment and help people to remain active on the water.

As part of Pedal for Paris, we’re joining forces with UK Sport to call for action in protecting our environment. Today, we’re visiting Paddle UK to draw attention to the impact sewage pollution is having on water sports. In a joint statement, Chris Boardman and Katherine Grainger said: "It’s time to step up our efforts. We know many sports are already doing impressive and serious work in this area, including the different members of the Clean Water Sport Alliance." #SportEngland | #PedalForParis

When it comes to data and insight relating to sport and physical activity behaviours, the irony (and the perennial challenge) has been that we have large amounts of useful information about the kinds of people that policy-makers, and most of those organisations involved in the implementation of policy, are least interested in. Join a sports club and we can generate insights. Become a member of a leisure facility and we'll learn things about people like you. Respond to a survey about your participation in something and it'll help us to understand why. What we know less about, and what we need to know much more about, are those people who will (in most normal circumstances) never choose to engage in formalised activities. And there are lots of them. That's not to say these people aren't moving, it's just that we haven't really known, up to this point. Not objectively and consistently, and not at scale. There are always limitations, caveats, and trade-offs with any single approach to measurement, but it's clear from our growing work that movement data has an important role to play in helping to shine a light into areas which have previously been dark. The richness of data available is now incredible, from visits and unique visitor numbers, to knowing where your visitors are coming from, their key socio-economic and health attributes, and even their consumer behaviours. I'm really keen to see movement data adopted at scale as part of a mixed-method approach to understanding how people move, informally, and how communities are using spaces we haven't really counted, until now. I feel like this forms an important piece of the jigsaw which will help to answer the question as to the value of parks and open spaces, and why they're an integral piece of infrastructure for those communities who may not otherwise have access to places and spaces which enable people to experience the fun and joy of moving outside. If you want to continue the conversation, or learn more about what we're doing at ActiveXchange UK/Europe to try and answer some of these questions, drop me a line.
