Post-Event Reflection: Learnings from ADISA event in London Yesterday, Joost de Kluijver and Ryan Bark attended the ADISA event in London. Here are their key takeaways: 👉 The ITAD industry is evolving quickly, and the market is paying closer attention to #ITAD professionals. A conversation with one of the UK’s largest IT service providers highlighted the need for future thinking—not just in terms of commercial value, but in fully recovering products at the end of their life. 👉 Corporate Sustainability and Responsible Digital Development (CSRDDD) were major themes, emphasizing responsibility beyond Scope 3 emissions to encompass the entire supply chain, from production to end-of-life recovery. At Closing the Loop we’re proud to be leading this change by collecting devices that have reached the end of their commercial life and ensuring they are recycled instead of becoming waste. By partnering with circular innovators and working across industries, we’re working towards a more sustainable and responsible future in the IT industry.

It has been an inspiring week here in London, surrounded by individuals who are deeply committed to shaping a better future. The ADISA Conference was the perfect way to cap off my trip; it was an absolute honor to moderate the panel on “What Makes a Modern ITAD” and to join the conversation as a panelist for “Hog Wash and Greenwash.” A huge thank you to ADISA for organizing such a thoughtful and impactful event, to my esteemed panelists (Steve Mellings | Andrew Gomarsall MBE | Edward Tucker | Sue Bywater-Read | John Spagnuolo | Ben Griffin | Alan Dukinfield | Heather Brand) for their invaluable insights, and to all the attendees who contributed to the engaging and meaningful discussions. I would also like to extend a special thanks to my friend, social activist, publisher and brilliant author, Dawn Bates who made the trip to learn more about our industry, for challenging the status quo, and her commitment to raising awareness on the meaningful work we do! Thank you to ADISA for organising a fantastic conference yesterday!
