Thank you Richard Gould (Sales Director) at Sheffield Technology Limited and Stuart Lawson (Business Development Director at Oldham Engineering Limited and Sheffield Technology Limited for their time this morning when I visited them here in Sheffield and introduced the Advanced Forming Research Centre to the business. STL carries forward a strong manufacturing legacy of the 7.5-acre Darnall Works site, which has been rooted in Sheffield since 1835. Fast forward to 2024 and the site is now at the forefront of modern manufacturing techniques. Sheffield Technology Ltd has been established to provide a state of the art material processing and manufacturing facility. It was great to see the continued investment being made and growth plans. Thanks again ! Good things happen when we talk!! #HighDefLaser #DisruptiveEngineering #MadeInSheffield

We (Heating Tech Team) attended the kickoff meeting of the ThermoSI project hosted by DTI (Danish Technological Institute) in sunny Taastrup, Denmark! 🌞 It was great to reconnect with colleagues from the previous EMPRESS projects and to meet new partners, with very productive discussions over the two days. A big thanks to the team at DTI for the warm welcome. Looking forward the next meeting at National Physical Laboratory (NPL)! A bit more about the project: This project, titled “23IND11 ThermoSI: Thermometry with Embedded SI Traceability for Industrial Applications,” is coordinated by DTI and involves 16 partners from across Europe. It includes five work packages (WPs): WP1: Traceable, quantitative thermal imaging from -100 °C to 500 °C WP2: Improving the technology readiness of practical Johnson noise thermometry WP3: Thermographic phosphor thermometry up to 1250 °C WP4: Artificial intelligence to facilitate improved thermometry WP5: Creating impact The project is funded by EURAMET - The European Association of National Metrology Institutes. AFRC will lead WP5 and will also participate in the other WPs for industrial testing of the prototypes developed by project partners. If you'd like to learn more or join the stakeholder community (for regular project updates, events, etc.), please feel free to contact me.
