In our latest episode of The Revolution.Aero Podcast we have none other than Gregory Davis, president of Raisbeck Engineering. A licensed commercial pilot and accomplished engineer, Davis has over 15 years of experience in leadership roles within aviation. His current post at Seattle-based Raisbeck is with a company that specialises in providing aerodynamically designed enhancements to aircraft – working with OEMs such as Boeing and Bombardier. But as well as engineering incremental improvement, something aviation has become accustomed to, Davis has also immersed himself in the other end of the spectrum, namely the electric aircraft startup world, formerly heading up Eviation. We take a tour through Davis' career and get his perspectives on the state of electric aircraft industry and innovation within aviation more widely. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/ehdfKcVu

Electra.aero is unlocking a new era of aviation with our EL9 Ultra Short aircraft, securing 2,200 pre-orders valued at nearly $9 billion—one of the largest order pipelines in the Advanced Air Mobility industry. The strong demand for the EL9 reflects the global industry’s confidence in Electra’s vision for Direct Aviation—a new category of seamless air mobility that makes flying as convenient and efficient as driving. With major operators worldwide already onboard, the EL9 is poised to reshape regional air travel. By integrating blown lift aerodynamics with hybrid-electric propulsion, the EL9 takes off and lands in just 150 feet, enabling air access where it was never possible before. This means operators can connect communities without traditional airports, fly into noise-restricted areas, and create new opportunities for passenger and cargo transport—all with lower cost and improved sustainability. Whether serving passengers, cargo, or critical logistics needs, Electra’s Ultra Short aircraft is making air travel more accessible, sustainable, and practical than ever before. Was interesting to see Beyond Aero reveal of the BYA-1, quite a step from the prototype and not a bad looking aircraft! I put in a back-of-the-napkin guesstimate of the performance in ForeFlight and a Paris to Madrid IFR flight would be about 2h22m and use 164 kg of gaseous H2. Now it is to be seen if the market is ready for this new energy source and aircraft format. Images : Via ForeFlight and Beyond Aero website #aviation #innovation #france2030 #hydrogen #greenhydrogen

Athena Browning leads a thoughtful conversation with Electra.aero's Marc Allen for Zag Daily's Radar series.
In #10 of Zag’s Radar series Marc Allen, CEO of Electra.aero, talks hybrid-electric aviation, flying NASA's top brass, and potential military applications for Electra’s EL9. “After leaving Boeing in November 2023, I took a year to explore where this technology could have the greatest impact. When I saw what Electra was doing, I knew this was the breakthrough the industry had been waiting for. This is our 2007 moment- the iPhone of aviation. The world is pivoting to hybrid-electric, and you can see it happening." #AAM #ZagAir Read more: https://lnkd.in/eaDdfpv3
