Whilst the Inspire-Ability series takes a short hiatus, we wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to Alex Prins Creative for their support over the last two seasons. We're sad to see them go but we wish both Alex and Adam the very best in their futures. #Inspireability #Podcast #VideoSeries #AbilityNotDisability

Aviation experiences for disabled and profoundly ill people, turning the dream of flying into an exhilarating reality!
About us
Aerobility enables disabled people of all ages to turn the dream of flight into an exhilarating and fulfilling reality. Our ethos of full inclusivity means we support people across the entire spectrum of disability, without exception – we know flying can provide a level of challenge and exhilaration difficult to find elsewhere. We also provide opportunities for disabled people to enjoy a wide range of aviation activities, from ground-based experience days, through to one-on-one training and instruction to secure a Private Pilot’s Licence. We own five specially-adapted aircraft and bespoke hoisting equipment, enabling us to make flight both accessible and safe. Our specially-trained flying instructors have built up a comprehensive knowledge on the challenges connecting disability and aviation, which is invaluable in the removing of barriers to participation. In 2016 we supported and provided services to almost 900 disabled people aged 7 to 92 – whatever the impairment, Aerobility have always found a way to get a someone into the pilot seat. Through our partnership with Help for Heroes, around a third of our beneficiaries are wounded, injured or sick (WIS) military personnel. Many cite flying with Aerobility not only as a turning point in their recovery, but also as an integral part of their rehabilitation. The positive impacts of engaging with Aerobility include: - Increased self-confidence, self-belief and independence. - Increased employability and improvements in academic studies. - Inspiring and empowering individuals to break through boundaries in all aspects of their lives. - Enhancements to well-being and social cohesion. - Positive change in an individuals’ long terms outlook on their disability. - Reduction in clinical episodes. - Personal accomplishment and pride. - The chance to do something amazing and experience a level of challenge, exhilaration and joy that it is difficult to find anywhere else!

We were so pleased to see the return of the Muscle Help Foundation for the 8th year! With the support of the MHF volunteers and Aerobility team, one lucky participant was able to experience flying (after practicing on the simulator, whilst waiting for the rain to stop) and even shared the fun with his brother. The incoming inclement weather means that we've had to take a raincheck on the next flying day but we'll regroup for more smiles in the skies soon! #MuscularDystrophy #DisabledFlying #AbilityNotDisability

It was our great pleasure to receive this fantastic donation from the FAC and Owen Daniels earlier today. The Farnborough Aerospace Consortium and Owen Daniels kindly co-hosted a charity golf day together to raise funds for Aerobility. The very successful event took place back in August at the Leatherhead Golf Course. Thank you all, great to meet some of you today and thanks to all the golfers too! #GolfDay #Fundraising #FarnboroughAerospace #OwenDaniels

We have recently launched an exciting new project that will enable us to extend our reach to many more disabled people - the addition of a Cherokee Six to our fleet. In order to make this project a reality we are appealing to your generosity by asking you to consider a contribution towards the new aircraft. The Cherokee Six has several key points in its favour, making it a valuable and much-needed addition to our fleet. Its size and design, with extra space onboard for mobility equipment and carers to join the flight, will enable us to extend our flight experiences to a wider range of beneficiaries. This additional space and extra door also allows us to deliver enhanced hoisting, further extending those that can fly. The additional two seats, extra door and greater baggage space (compared to our existing aircraft) will give us the capability to provide flyaway activities to any airfield in the UK, taking the hoist and equipment such as electric wheelchairs inside the aircraft. This will greatly further our mission to extend our reach beyond our existing physical sites and current community by giving us the capacity to offer an additional 100 flights every year to severely disabled people. As a token of our gratitude for your generous support, we would like to offer you the opportunity to have your name, or the name of a loved one, added to the wing of the aircraft for donations of £50 or more. For corporate donations of £3,000 or more, your organisation's logo will be featured on the aircraft. You can read more about the project and donate here: https://lnkd.in/eTkYE6_Q #Fundraising #ChangingLives #AbilityNotDisability #DisabledAviation

Our Aerobility Ambassadors are a small group of Aerobility participants who have been selected to represent the charity at events, or share their stories with other organisations or groups. Our Ambassadors are super enthusiastic; whether it's talking to a small group with an interest in aviation or attending a networking event at the Houses of Parliament, they will bring the Aerobility story to life. If you would like to arrange for an Ambassador to attend your event please contact harveymatthewson@aerobility.com for more information. #Aerobility #Ambassador #GuestSpeaker #Networking #LivedExperience
