What a fantastic way to bring our #DigitalGovNI to a close, Janet Hancock Head of Preservation and Collections Management at PRONI outlines not only the challenges to record management but offers some recommendations: -Identify ‘digital risks’ and ensure these are escalated appropriately. -Conduct a Digital Information Audit – what do you have and where? -Structure – how do your digital records relate to one another, and how will this context be represented to future researchers. -Access decisions – PRONI will not accept digital records without a clear and considered access decision. - Consider management and review of and access to closed information going forward?

"When you are registered upon admission to hospital it is absolutely critical we link you as a patient to your HCN number because all of your care history is attached to that record. "Your HCN number is critical for integrated care. Truth be told, we only get one shot at getting this right, and it's my job to make sure that person has the best chance of matching you to your record, it's that simple."

Frances Meehan Edis Programme Manager for Education Authority (Northern Ireland) outlines to #DigitalGovNI how the programme is creating future-proof schools by leveraging digital solutions to enhance education, develop essential skills, and foster a supportive and equitable learning environment. Stressing the importance of good data, Meehan sets out that with data and AI, EdIS can provide:

Michaela Black of Ulster University has been working in AI for almost 25 years. She admits that most recently a lot of her work has had to focus on defending AI. A fascinating insight into how AI is being used, where it can be an enabler but also the importance of human oversight and data quality recognition "AI is a pleasing technology – the aim is to please end users by giving them an answer to their problem based on data provided," says Professor Black. If using AI, organisations need to: •avoid bias in data •avoid causing more divided society - Inequality – can everyone access or afford the new technological solutions •avoid mis-information •future Proof AI solutions – they may solve one focused problem but cause many more… #DigitalGovNI
