AGR Power (“AGR”) is pleased to announce a major strategic partnership with the Railway Pension Trustee Company (“Railpen”), in which Railpen has acquired a 50% shareholding in AGR group. The partnership marks a significant milestone for both Railpen and AGR, who will work collaboratively to grow AGR’s existing presence in the UK renewable and infrastructure market. Railpen will be represented on AGR’s board by Lewis Vanstone and Cristiana Dochioiu. AGR’s co-founder Oliver Breidt will remain at the helm as group director. The Glasshouse project at Ely was an unforgettable experience for Askam Civil Engineering Limited to contribute toward success. This large project involved multiple sub-projects that industrial-scale construction often divides between companies. One difference here was managing two clients: the Bom Group and AGR Renewables. Askam handled concreting the 250,000 sq meter slab foundation for BOM’s glasshouse (around 35 football pitches in size). We also built infrastructure like roads, drainage, and an energy centre with heat storage for AGR. Drawing on substantial experience and expertise, Askam’s civil engineering team delivered excellent results. Our contribution was essential to completing the Glasshouse on schedule. This facility now sustainably grows cucumbers using renewable energy. Succeeding through careful collaboration, the Ely Glasshouse shows what Askam can accomplish. We solved complex engineering problems to turn an ambitious vision into reality. Such projects make lasting impacts, and Askam is proud to play a vital role.
